Sniper scope weird placeholder picture

Came across a weird bug yesterday on the sniper scope. Instead of what was actually down range of the rifle there was a placeholder picture of a blurry jungle scape. I have got a pic but for some reason I can't attach it to this post.

Happened on all four sniper rifles, on CuChi, Hue City and Hill. It can't be fixed by changing weapons, and if the rifle is dropped it cannot be picked up again for about 20 seconds, but then allows itself to be re-equipped and the placeholder is gone. It didn't happen every game, I'd say around 1:3, and it also happened the first time I looked into the scope after I spawned in.

Don't know if anyone else has seen this but it perplexed me!
