Reporting hacking on TWB servers

Approx 1700 hrs central time US today on TWB servers, hacker used a script that allowed them to change name/ auto-stab to disrupt the game significantly.



About 1900 hrs central time US today same servers, hack then used a "battlefield commission" hack to kill players and disrupt the server.



These hacks have been reported to TWB server admins, but I also wanted to report these to TW directly as well.

I've been trying to figure this out but how do I change the bonescale of a actor spawned by the PlayerController and is owned by the pawn? So far I can only change it's bonescale by changing the owning pawns bonescale

KF Server works but noone can join after mapchange sometimes

Hi guys.



I've got a Killing Floor Server hosted by a well-known Server host. Sometimes after a map change the server console shows that the server is running but if somone wants to join the game it doesn't work and theres written that it's loading index.rom



It happens not everytime just around every 5th map change. I don't know if it happens only on several maps. Sometimes if i restart the level in webadmin interface the server restarted and it works.



I'm usind the SCRN Balance mutator + Gunslinger Perk and additional 4 custom perks with new weapons. Further i'm using some small mutators like damagepopup, KFMaxPlayers and a ZED Manager for some new ZEDs.



Pls tell me what you need for finding the problem i can upload every ini you wish :p




Killing Floor - Stalkers on west london,bioticslab and manor

Hello,1. I am playing on west london long time bcs i want ot level up my commando, but i still dont know where is the biggest spot of stalkers. People saying like in front of spawn in alley way, but there are 2 alleyways, This is alleyway with cars to left from spawn or this alleyway to this house( looks like office) ?

2. Second map is The Manor. People are saying that stalkers spawn is in the shop near the lake between 2 caves, and its in the top of the house, in the cave, and i dont know where at all.

3. In bioticslab i should stay in the top of these stairs or at down of these stairs?

RO2 Simple Request: Use the RS pistol upgrades for RO2

This is only a simple suggestion, and it's probably been made before, but for the:

Can we have the level 25 and level 50 upgrades changed to the rather useful +1 and +2 magazines from RS?



The Nagent Revolver could do with a +1 magazine for the level 50.



The C96 could do with the same, but I'm not going to actually suggest it as I can imagine people would be annoyed to lose the schnellfeuer.




RO2 freezes at menu

My Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm Multiplayer is not working.



It freezes at the menu as soon as I launch the game with the music still playing.



I have tried:



Reinstalling.



Deleting config.



Verifying game cache.



Going into settings and disabling Physx.



Updating RO2Redist and Punkbuster in the steam folder.



Checked windows firewall to allow Punkbuster A and B.



Tried to launch straight to the server through a web server list but the game froze as soon as I got in the server.



Deleted PB folder and PB file in steam folder and ran the game without PB.



I have run it without my anti-virus working and still freezes.





Do you have any fixes for this freeze at the menu?




RO2 The Axis troop transports are slow!

Is it normal for a Sdkfz. 251 to have a max speed of 10 km/h on roads and even terrain? No, it is not.



Is this a bug or something? Sometimes they do get faster but it all happens to be very random. They should easily reach 50 km/h from the start. And this happens even when there are no players close to the HT because I remember that you had to wait for nearby players in RO1, but this is not the case.




What Tripwire needs to do to help fight hackers

I was just in a game with a blatant hacker who was aimbotting and changing his name to that of another player in the game with each kill.



Tripwire can do 2 things to help this situation;

1. Make it so you can't change your name while ingame.

2. Make it so you can't make your name the same as someone else.



There's no reason you should have to change your name while playing, it can always be done offline. And you shouldn't be able to have the same name as someone else anyway, this would combat impersonating griefers which I've seen before.



This would help combat hacking by making it easier to report the profile of the hacker.




To address the polar conflicts

Lately the forums have been lighting up with debates about how KF2 should be, although it's becoming more and more binary in nature. Most of the discussions are black and white, up and down, etc.



Some of us want to run around in chicken suits, some of us yearn for a golden age when games were genuinely horrific. One chap wants to blow everything up with an M32 while another fellow wants his entire team kite as zerks.



These are all fine but going with one option will ultimately alienate fans of the other. So what's TWI supposed to do?



Well, I don't have the "be and end all of it" answer, but why not start with this:



Why don't we empower the server browser with more filters? I have two scenarios that I imagine this could be of some use to appease all parties.



[1] Let's imagine that TWI goes ahead and creates amazing content that are both gritty and horrific as well comical and over the top (just like they did with KF1...so we already know it's possible). For those who have a severe aversion to the latter, they could simply check off a "no eccentricity" filter (or whatever you wish to call it) to ignore servers that:



-host seasonal and "out of the norm' maps

-disables use of "joke" characters

-deploys only realistic weaponry




Players will ultimately find themselves inclined to align with what resonates most with them. You'll have the ones who want to enjoy the sheer grittiness and tense atmosphere, you'll have the people who have a blast parading around in chicken suits AND you'll have people who are indifferent and enjoy both.



[2] One person can hate a perk while another adores it. That's fine, but no one likes to be barked at with "play as this perk or get kicked." In other words, no person should be forced to play in a style they don't wish to use.



"But" you may ask, "I'm trying to play seriously with my team and this guy's being a liability with his class." So why don't we get to the root and allow servers to dictate which perks can be disabled from the get go?



Imagine (since I'm too lazy to photoshop a concept pic) in the server browser you click on a server and in the info box (along with typical server information) you see a small "perk wheel". You would see all 10 icons of the perks in the game (in a circle, hence the "wheel") and if they're all lit, that means all perks are go. If a perk icon is dim, that means it's disabled.



Through this, you could figure out what type of game you're looking at. If you see only the Berserker icon lit, the players will likely want to kite for the map. If you see everything lit but the Demolition perk icon, then one can assume that the players don't want to deal with the visual obstruction of smoke from grenade launchers.



Therefore, people who want to carry out a certain style of gameplay won't witness any surprises they don't care for. Or better yet, anyone who hates a certain class altogether can always keep it disabled. And if they do, that will be perfectly fine because all camps (including the one that's fine with all perks being active) are still being accommodated thanks to the filters.



In the end, something like this should help alleviate some of the gravity with the design choices that'll go into KF2 as TWI can choose to go with "both" instead of placing all their eggs in one basket.



But if this is fully implemented and anyone says "NO, F*CK THE CHICKEN SUITS, F*CK THEM FOREVER, I DON'T WANT THEM IN MY CODEZ" then that's just being selfish.

RO2 Possible upgrades for the DP-28

Because of the lack of upgrades for the DP-28 in the game. I was thinking about what are the possible upgrades for the DP-28 so heres my idea.



Level 25 = Pistol grip and a new recoil spring(DPM)

Level 50 = Either spare barrels, 60 round pan magazine of the DT or belt fed from the RP-46.



The RP-46 was only introduced after the war as late as 1946 while the DPM around 1943 so I have to share this idea in order to improve the DP where atleast it can compete against the MG34 where even ppl on the Soviet team with a hero status playing as machine gunner can use it. Even reminds me of that weird dual drum mag from the MG34.

Make each enemy (of the same type) slightly different

I think this is something that would significantly improve the feel of the game, and shouldn't be too much effort to implement.



Basically, when an enemy spawns give it slightly randomized attributes, such as:


  • Movement speed - Some move faster than others.

  • Size - Some are taller/shorter than others. It'd also be good if certain parts of the mesh (ie. the arms) could be slightly expanded so that some appear stronger than others.

  • Damage - A slight random modifier to the damage. Naturally bigger specimens will do more damage.

  • Health - Same as above (damage), but health.

  • Skin features - Some unique elements on the skin, such as tattoos and scars.




If done properly it'll be much more menacing when you have a squad of clots marching towards you, looking like individuals rather than instanced meshes. :)




Give different maps different shop weapons

I think it'd be great if the stock maps had a specific selection of weapons in the trader, as to encourage alternative strategies and to stop every visit to the shop resulting in "halp too many weapons too choose from".



So for example in some maps the axe would be available but not the machete, and such.

RO2 Blend Overlay

Hm, I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find the Blend_Overlay material expression in the material editor. In fact I can't find any blend functions except for multiply and add.. Does anyone know how to go about this?




Roadmap for the future?

So now that the GOTY patch has been released, what are TWI's next plans for this game? New theatres of war? Go-Kart DLC? Zombie DLC? Both of these combined?




Clipping into Train Cart [TE-Station]

Reproducibility: Always



1. Join online server with map TE-Station

2. Walk to coordinates G-5, it's the one laying on its side (see screenshots)

3. Walk into the the middle of the roof of it and "wiggle" a bit and you'll clip into the cart. It is possible to shoot out from the inside and to clip out again.



This happened on an online server and all my setting were on Ultra if that makes any difference.

missing server info when challend accepted

I can not find anywhere the server booked for a specific match. Until challenge is not accepted we can still see what server was booked if I remember well, but now the challenges are accepted, the information is missing on the match pages, example:

This is a general addon that takes the same use as ServerColor except this allows you to define more then 1 server name and map color, this is quite usefull for those who use ServerColor but have more then 1 server running from the same directory.



You can define your own name prefix which needs to be in the servername and not in any others, the config provided below shows an example of this

Make All Perks VIABLE for High Level Play

I love a lot of the new features going into KF2 and am really looking forward to playing it when it comes out. One thing though that I haven't really seen anyone suggest for the new game is to make all classes viable for all difficulties.



In kf1, firebugs for example are rarely picked in hell on earth, and if they are picked, most people on the team either tell them to change classes or the game is lost.



At high level play, there seems to be only a few classes that people consider to be worth picking (medic, support, sharpshooter to name a few.)



I wanted to continue playing KF after I leveled up all of my classes, but I felt that since I couldn't use the classes I wanted to play in the higher difficulties, what was the point of playing?



When the early access is released, I am sure most people will be offering their advice/suggestions to help balance their favorite classes throughout all difficulties so hopefully this will be a non-issue. That said, I figured I would get this thought out there and maybe get other players' opinions or a dev's viewpoint on all of this.

Critical bugs: Ladder scoring doesnt work

Case A:

1) =RAGE= wins a clan 4-0 and gains 16pts

2) After this when 1516 =RAGE= wants to challenge any clan, the challenge screen shows =RAGE= has 1500pts and will always gain +16 as would opponent gain (with 1500pts) if they won.



Case B:

1) =RAGE= had won the 1st match and got 16pts. The 1500 moved to 1516 pts.

2) =RAGE= plays second match. =RAGE= wins 4-0.

3) Match is reported and accepted. =RAGE='s points still remain 1516. Opponent did lose 16 points.

4) Also =RAGE='s Strk remains as 1 but it probably should be 2?

KF Edit Characters name/bio/model

Hello guys.



It seems that, after the last patch, TWI changed some local files of KF. Before, I was able to change characters name and bio with the file KFGui.int or .ini, don't remember well. Now it seems that this file has disappeared from my computer. Can you guys help me? Also, it is possible to delete original harchier character model and to replace it with harchier II by renaming it? So in the characters screen selection only "Harchier_Spebbington" would appear.

How do you feel about playing on servers with BOTS (AI)?

It's a nice day, you feel like playing some RO2 / RS. Open the server browser and TONS of server have bots on them. Most even have a lot of human players and still bots running around.



How do you feel about that? Do you wish there were no bots at all but just human players? Don't mind the bots?



Please leave your opinion in the poll!



To me the number 1 reason i often don't play is because i simply can't find a server that has -only- humans playing on them. I don't understand why admins leave them on there when there are enough people connected.

RO2 Reinforcements in UDK

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone knows how to set up reinforcements count when trying out a new level in UDK editor? I've set up my kismet with an objective, the level loads, it counts down, but as soon as the game starts it's over because there's no reinforcements left.. have been searching everywhere for an answere but can't find any. :(

Boss Heal Stages?

I've been modifying HardPat to be more dangerous (more rockets, chainguns) and stuff, but I have totally no idea how the healing triggers. I coded him to do a Dread-like explosion, along with anti-stun as he enters the healing phase, so no exploits and stuff.



Stuff I already know are that:

In PostBeginPlay, ZombieBoss, Health and HealingAmount are scaled up, so are the "limits", in the array HealingLevels. This scaling however, does not seem to be able to be changed in HardPat, as I've tried. It still seems to heal at 20%, and a very tiny amount. I've managed to force healing on Pat to heal a more substantial amount since I am unable to find any information on these functions: NotifySyringeA/B/C, which seem to only contain Health += HealthAmount. The problem is still the fact that he triggers at 20%, which isn't ideal :|




KF Perk progress not saving

My perk progress is not saving! I recently got the game and i got to level one sharpshooter but the next game i played it was back down to 0. Also for other perks its not saving my progress. It will only save it sometimes. And when it does save it, it will revert back to less progress in a few games. Please help!

Win-Loss Ratio Bug

Yo,



Been a bug for a while, but have not seen any threads or mention of the bug. Maybe because it does not really matter...



Anyway, it is a bug none the less.



The Win-Loss Ratio for Red Orchestra 2 : Heroes of Stalingrad on your profile/achievements is completely screwed, it decided to add about 20,000 extra losses to your profile! haha! (Dont know the exact number, but it's borked to say the least)







I do remember when this game came out, you had to do a reset of everyone's stats because it was quiet buggy! :D




Adding Halftracks on older maps

Yo,



What does everyone think of adding half-tracks to more of the older maps in this game?



Remember Bridges of Druzhina? 'Harley' the map maker actually made a new version in which he added Bren-Carriers for the Allies and I've personally found the map to be far less of a slog during the early open caps.

We are actually often sooner fighting throughout the town! Which in my opinion is the best part of the map!



Anyway, just curious what everyone thought about that.

Maps like Spartanovka, Myshkova River, Gumrak Station, Red October Factory, Commissar's House, Pavlov's House, Fallen Fighters all have a silly amount of open-grounds which benefit the defenders (Coupled with Artillery drops, you can cordon off entire flanks for a good amount of time and tickets)



I think it is a shame the way half-tracks were implemented into RO2. I think having them used in the more older maps would remove the 'novelty' feel we currently have on maps like 'Rakowice' & 'Barashka' but rather they have a 'purpose'

Used to get a squad of infantry through open-grounds into cover and cap-zones. Maps are often crazy linear in RO, the half-tracks enable you to get into excellent positions with a group of men causing havoc in the sides & rear.



Cheers, I hope something is done about that... change is nice, and Half-tracks need some more love!











Immersion Overhaul Mutator >.>

I hate to be negative here but Tripwire is never going to white list this mod ever. They will not white list something that they did not make because it will make them look bad and plus they don't like the SS being in it and such and some people get offended of what is in the mod which is also another reason. I would like this mod to be white listed so badly but it's never going to happen so don't get your hopes up. I always wanted something like this but it is what it is boys and we're going to have to deal with it.



The Immersion Overhaul Mutator has been out for a long time guys and it is pretty obvious that it's never going to be white listed because Tripwire didn't create the mod and if it is something they did not make then it will not be white listed, simple as that. The IOM is a very realistic mod, very detailed, uniforms are realistic looking, everything about the IOM is realistic which is why people want it so bad but Tripwire doesn't want it to be released because it will make them look bad, it's not their work, therefore it won't be white listed.



You might as well just wait for Festung Europa to come out or just buy RO1 and play Darkest Hour because Tripwire is never going to do anything like white listing IOM, the only way you will be able to play it is go on the unranked tab but I think that is retarded and it should be white listed. I'm sorry that I made this thread but it is true and with all the crappy updates Tripwire has released so far they should white list IOM, because if they don't then at some point RO2 is going to die and then they are going to regret it.



I'm sorry for being like this guys but it is true because Tripwire never does anything good for RO2, we never get good updates, they wont enable IOM which the community wants but Tripwire doesn't care, we all asked for the half track for the Wehrmacht which was like 2 years ago and we got it like 2 months ago. I'm sorry guys but Tripwire doesn't care, they only care about the money, not making good updates and making everybody happy.

RO2 D3D Error

Hello, I'm having this error from a month (from the release of the update with transports)http://forums.tripwireinteractive.co...1&d=1401305484

I've tried everything that the window suggest to do but nothing. When I delete the ROEngine.ini file the game sometimes starts and i can play for a while then it crashes and it gives me the same problem. I've also tried to re-set the desktop but nothing. The error keeps to comes out... What to do? Can you help me? I want to play again to this awesome game!

Hello everytime i play ro2 sp allies the FIRST mission it always ending before time's up WHAT THE ****?!!!I defending the area killing enemies accross me but still is pop up that message that I not defended and I appears in the next defend location!!!I think it's a bug,i even not die when i defending.Idk but on axis campaign it was easier even with Heros Of Staliningrad difficulity,however I tried on all difficulities but still cannot complete the mission.Please help me.

Ive only just purchased this game 2 days ago now, after looking at some footage online so could not wait to play it, and as you may gave guessed from the title now, i am plagued with this annoying speed hack which is ruining an amazing game. You've probably heard this all before but i need a fix to get rid of it, ive searched google but nothing. Updated punkbuster, nothing, still the same, downloaded the WLAN optimizer, nothing, i am on wireless but its impossible to get it wired up to the modem at the moment, i am using an Asus USB stick to connect to the internet, with the wireless notification in the tray at the bottom saying i have 300 MBPS with excellent signal strength, there are no other devices using the internet at the same time when im on in my house, so have no idea what to do, sorry about the length but i need some help!!!! Oh and my pings always under 100 too.

KF2 Viscera Cleanup Detail map?

This might seem a bit weird for those who do not know what Viscera Cleanup Detail is, but in short, it is basically a game in which you are a janitor who cleans up all sorts of things, such as blood, body parts, and lots of items on a map. I think Killing Floor's atmosphere, is perfect for this because of obvious reasons, such as blood, body parts, bullets, guns, etc., which lead to me to a modest idea. Why not use one of the smaller maps in the upcoming Killing Floor 2 game, and have it used in a Viscera Cleanup Detail map? People who buy KF2 would get free access to this separate, single-map, game.



Shadow Warrior did this for its customers, by that owners of the game, got the Viscera map, for free. Of course, TWI would have to communicate with Runestorm, the company who made Viscera Cleanup Detail, and work something out, but I'm confident that RS would be willing to work on such a project. On the forums page for Viscera Cleanup Detail, the idea of having one of the maps from Killing Floor being used was mentioned a few times.



This is just my thought, but I would enjoy it, and I'm sure others would. Of course not everyone would, and some people would just laugh at the idea of a janitor-simulator game, but there are quite a few people who enjoy playing such a game. Thoughts?

Match rules: server choice

Hello.



We'd like to request an "urgent" change to the following rule:

5. If teams from two different regions play against each other then they will play one map on a server from each region.



This rule gives european clans the right to force SA teams to play their map in EU, which is just not doable for us (pings of +300ms).



The only playable solution for SA vs EU is to do all maps at the middle point (East NA server). Although most old clans already know that, we need the rules to assure it, because newer clans seem to have a hard time understanding that NA is NOT our home.



Now when you look at the active ladder teams, you realize how mistaken is this EU-NA polarization:

There are more SA teams than NA teams in the ladders .

(=F|R=, =M|F=, ={GMU}= vs {coreNA} and |6th|)

And more SA clans are coming soon



So, the current 'region system' leaves room for confusion. Hence why we asked to include SA at one of the previous meetings when it was first implemented. Even though TWIL does not have a SA based server, clans need to see where other clans are playing from before being able to make challenges (profile info, etc).

Pls TWI fix the bloody rambo mg

I know this topic is beaten to death, but one of the biggest gamebrakes in Ro2 is the hipfired Mg. Its not realistic that you can handle it like a super fast smg and to be so effective even at long range without even deploying it. The mg 34 is even better and more effective than a ppsh in close quarter combat. The Mg should used to provide covering fire and not as a super heavy assault rifle. Its just annoying. Pls make it like in Roost, with super slow moving, action key and überrecoil. Pls most of the player base wants it.

I know you are aware of the bug, but I personally receive 10 time the same message for a unique challenge. Their ID is incremented by three, if it can help spot the problem. (example: http://ift.tt/1oHGNyH http://ift.tt/1phfhKR http://ift.tt/1phfhKT and so on to the tenth same message)



I also noticed that when you reject a challenge, the MP are deleted with the challenge, not a problem I think, but i wanted to tell about it.



Also, I think that in the challenge MP, you should have at least which ladder you are challenged on, if not a link directly to the challenge in order to not open both ladder challenge pages to find your challenge.

When I rejected RAGE's challenge (they made a mistake on the date) I had no options to chose new dates, the challenge just disappeared, but I thought I had to choose two new dates...



I then recreated a challenge against RAGE, because I had no options



How does the system work? was it the good way to go or is there something I did not understand?

From what I saw, RAGE challenged us on the same date they challenged GFA on the same ladder, Maybe teams MUST review their challenge before sending it but for me it can be a problem, the same challenge should not be able to be sent to two different teams on the same ladder. I rejected their challenge and send a new one for the good date and time (they made a mistake and challenged us one day earlier than the planned date)




[Error] Wrong profile tab numbers?

I've played around 15 games so far in this game and my win/loss ratio was 2.0. Well I came to see the stats today and it was suddenly 0.01, with 471 matches played, from which I've lost 465. How is that possible? My KD ratio also dropped from 17 to only 3.84 quite fast...



I suggest this bug should be fixed, as it's being addressed for quite a long time. I've seen other people complaining about this in summer 2013




RO2 First person Full Body Awareness

Hello folks,



I have returned from the grave after I heard from IOM and I scanned through the forums and I have dug deep into it, looking for all that stuff the community was discussing when RO2 wasn't released yet. Among them was this topic here:

It deals with something I really enjoy in any video game that featured this so far: See your lower torso, your legs and feet as you look down. Currently we are just two hands glued to a weapon of choice. Especially with IOM mod I believe it would be very nice to have "Full Body Awareness" in 1st person as it would bring a lot to the immersion.



There is a lot of times you actually look down:



*Standing on higher floors, looking for the enemy

*Picking things up

*Mantling



Even a game from 2007 namely Crysis featured this and now we have 7 years later. I believe it not too difficult to "activate" the body in 1st person as when we are dying we can see our feet and legs (if they are not blown off), so why not have them when we are still alive?

I never understood why we have them when we are in a vehicle when the majority of the time we are running around as foot-mobiles.



I believe it would be easy for a skilled modder as it surely is just a few lines of code which need to be set from "false" to "true". :)

Hardware Requirements (A rough estimate)


I read the Steam FAQ and PC Gamer reveal, and since KF2 is going to run on UE3 (as you emphasized you were afraid of 4cores cpu being a basic requirement for UE4) I'm hoping it's not going to be a total system hog.

I know it will have considerably higher hw requirements than the first game, but since you worked on RO2 (and gained experience) I'm wondering what does that mean for KF2?




  • Will KF2 run better than RO2? (benefits of experience)

  • Will KF2 run worse than RO2? (new/more features/effects = more power needed)

  • Will KF2 run more or less the same as RO2?


I know it's really early, but could you possible give us some info about that?

How does it perform on e.g. i3 + GTX660/R9 270? (and what were the setting during the gameplay).



I know you are probably working on some crazy i7 CPUs and high end GPUs, but not every (even dedicated) gamer is going to buy a high end PC.



Personally I'm about to buy a new PC late Q3 or early Q4 and I'm aming at something like i5-4460 + GTX 760 + 8GB RAM + SSD (Crucial M500/M550 FTW).

How does SSD affect gameplay? Possible to compare performance (loading/stuttering) with HDD?

Ingame music not changing to track I replaced

I've been trying to replace a few tracks in the music folder recently but the song just will not change. I've used Audacity to convert a few mp3's to ogg and then renamed them to the tracks I want to replace but no dice, the game just plays the default song. Weird because I've done this before using the same exact method but for some reason it just refuses to work now.

Cannot install punk buster (getting kicked from servers)

I was playing RO2 yesterday without any problems, even on PB servers. But today, suddenly, I cannot play on any PB enabled servers because I get kicked after like a minute, with a message:

My PnkBstrA.exe is running well, in the task manager, but the B one is nowhere to be found even in administrative tools -> services. After downloading the punkbuster service setup from their website, I get an error message:

can't open file 'C:\Windows\system32\PnkBstrB.exe' (error 32: process cannot gain access to the file, because another process is currently ussing it.)

I have no antivirus installed so it shouldn't be a problem, even the Windows defender isn't working for me. So how can I fix the PnkBstrB.exe? I cannot find it anyone on the internet, as everyone is having problems with the A one...




[How Do I?] the online campaign mode doesnt work

well , im admin from jamps.com.ar and we have 2 ranked servers , and want to put the second server in campaign mode , but doesnt seems work.

and the server start but first not load the mini map to fast load and start with a normal map ramdom , then i check on the webadmin on current game section i see the MP Campaign Active: no . so i go to the settings>gameplay and press the radio bottom on campaing. save . fall back to the current game and now say MP Campaign Active: yes .

Gore System on Players

One of my favourite things about KF1 was the brutality of dying. Knowing that my failure would result in the gruesome death and devouring (or stabbing, crushing, burning, etc.) of my character was disturbing, yet it inspired me to fight for survival all the harder. With the news I was reading about the gore system in the game, it got me thinking how this will apply to the player's body. Would their bodies show a variety of damage from the variety of ways they are damaged, or will it be very basic dismemberment like in KF1? Will the clots eating me actually affect my dead character's appearance or will it remain unchanged?



What do you think, or would like to see?




A plea to Tripwire- Take your game more seriously

I absolutely love Killing Floor. There isn't any other game out there really like it. The atmosphere and monster designs and sound effects and music are great. The weapons are realistic and the damage as well.

But it always feels to me like it's completely spoiled by how NOT seriously the game takes itself. There are guys running around in chicken suits and all the dialogue of the players and the trader just has no sense of urgency or terror. Why set up these dark creepy levels with AMAZING music by zynthetic to set a mood you're just going to destroy with a silly voice going "I'm trying to heal you not shag you!"

I hope you guys rethink your approach for this next game with perhaps more serious character models and voice acting to help keep the horror aspect of the game. I realize a large part of this game's player base doesn't care and is just happy shooting and blowing things up, but you could really take the immersion and horror factor to a new level if you just stuck with it rather than half-assing it.




Survivors/Players when it comes to the new gore system?

As we all know, the new gore system in Killing Floor 2 is going to change the way we kill ZEDs, blowing off their faces and such, which is great n' all, but one thing that got me concerned was if the survivors/players would be getting the same equal treatment when getting killed in action?



I fondly remember back in KF1 when players would accidently die from falling or throwing a bad grenade and sometimes losing their limbs or head like ZEDS always did.



And if they were to die the same way with KF2's new gore, imagine how awesome it would be to see? I can practically picture a cornered unlucky player getting ground up by a fleshpound only to see his body torn to shreds lying on the ground. :p



It would be punishing like any other death in a round of the game but just oh so great to look and see what a ZED did to your fallen comrade. :D

KF GameSpy shutdown

As many of you probably know Gamespy is shutting down all it's servers in 6 days.

The KillingFloor multiplayer uses Gamespy and consequently will be unavaible at the end of the week. Perk information might also be stored on Gamespy's servers.

Does anyone know what the plan is for this? Will the multiplayer just stop working or will there be an update before the end of the week?

Want info on the can't get up from prone issue

Hello everybody,



Every month or so I go through this section on the forums and find people complaining about the unable to standup from prone bug. Where you essentially are prone, then press the button to stand up but immediately afterwards go prone again.



Personally I still cannot get this issue to happen, so I wonder if people can share some information on this issue.



1. Do you use hold or toggle prone

2. How often does it happen to you in a match?

3. Next time you get the issue to happen can you try to remember what you did to go prone (was it sprint to prone, cover prone, did you use the sprint from prone and auto go prone afterwards thing a few times), and where you were lying (slanted surface or something?).

4. Was your ping and connection ok, was the server still performing ok or did a lot of people have high ping (signal that the server is overloaded).




KF Where is the Scrake's head-hitbox?!?!

Dat situation. When the Scrake is stunned for seconds.



I seem to fairly miss sometimes the Scrakes head when it's about sharpshooting with Sharpy or Commando. Could anyone enlight me his hitbox location? Preferably via a short Video or Screenshots. So many people say his hitbox is there, there and there. These locations are all different!



I must learn it the visual way, not the text way.




RO2 shot down

RO2 just went completely dead out of no where, only a few servers remain with very little players, some servers have 64 and some just have 25. I think tripwire made a mistake by adding that vac ban that bans anybody for whatever game they were banned on previously which is completely stupid and will kill the playerbase. I also see a different problem in game, it says -1 people are online so what does that mean? I have a vac ban on record and now I have to suffer because of this? you should only get banned from RO2 if you hack in RO2, simple as that. tripwire has done it again folks lol and now less are playing the game.



I can't seem to find a good WW2 game to play on, RO2 use to be good but now it just turned black on me. tripwire sure knows how to kill the game, they had good updates before but this update just pissed everybody the hell of completely sooo yeah.

In KF2 will be still be able to throw money after winning a match... that's classic KF right there and will be missed by many if not included.

I don`t know if i use the right words for it but i have seen this and till now nobody complains about it.



Opening the hatch in the german vehicle as a driver is going well, scrollwheel up and the moves after going correctly



But...



In the russian vehicle it is opposit.




The IOM seems to be getting a lot of stuff people have wanted for a long time, so uh:

What's going to happen going forward in regards to things Tripwire could/should add that IOM already does?



IOM has or may have soon:

More weapons including molotovs and a proper AT nade for Ger.

Better skins

Better sounds

Better explosions

Shrapnel

Better gore

Death moans

Detachable bayonets

Cape thingy



(It also has a bunch of stuff which changes the gameplay balance but I'm leaving that out.)



The stuff I listed could all be done by Tripwire and added (but I don't think they have the time given some of them were suggested years ago) or the non gameplay stuff from the IOM could be directly integrated to the game.



Much like maps and vehicles (sort of :() already are added from the community this could be another oppurtinity to improve the game while not taking up all the time that TW could be using for something else.



This also has the benifit of given the "straight upgrade" bits of the IOM to everyone while reserving the gameplay "I don't know if everyone will like it" bits for the mod.




Mamayev - Axis Engineer - Lose points for blowing up objectives

As per the title, on Mamayev Kurgan as Axis Engineer I've been finding over the weekend that when I satchel an objective, I get a -5 team points penalty rather than the expected +5 points.



And before anyone asks, no I've definitely not accidently TK'd someone as I retested it on an empty server.



I've not done a repair yet, but this is surely a server side problem as it's to do with scoring right?

Cosmetic chance to killing the Patriarch

Edit: Realized I accidently made a type. Thread name should be "change" not "chance". Sorry about that.



So, another one of my not gameplay-critical suggestions... BUT.



I'm sure all of us loved killing the Patriarch. Watching everything go into slow motion as the entire team lays into him, watching his arms get cut up my bullets and katanas, and then the demo eventually ruins it by destroying his corpse... it was wonderful. So, what if Tripwire improved the Patriarch death for KF2 to further just how good it felt?



My idea would be that once that Patriarch "dies" he tries to stand up, instead of just limply falling over like he would in the original KF. From there, the team gets to mow him down with a flurry of shots and weaponry, to really get the visceral feel of defeating him and tearing him apart. To keep the action going, if your clip runs dry, the character throws the weapon away and pulls out their next weapon. And this series of character's throwing away their weapons and emptying EVERYTHING they have in the Patriarch ends once all of the ammo based weapons have been used up, or a certain time limit (say 10 seconds).



It's a fairly unimportant change to make, but I would love to have a more personal end-of-game moment where you TEAR APART the Patriarch. Because it felt so good to gib him in the few moments between when you kill him and the match ends in KF1, if they developed a whole system for gibbing him once the match ends it would feel amazing. Though a lot of stuff might have to be changed (such as making it so that all demo shots don't explode when they hit the Patty, until the last second or so)

TE and CD RO2 Ladders now launched!

Both Territory and Countdown ladders are now launched, and teams can start challenging each other. Let's get those matches on!

All teams, remember to refresh your memory on the rules, especially


When sending out a challenge, you will have to choose your map, a primary AND secondary date and the server for the match. When responding to a challenge, you will have to choose your map and one out of the two dates in the challenge, which will then be the actual match date.

Remember to make sure your challenge is 100% correct before sending it out, as you cannot currently modify the challenge after sending it.

When your team is challenged, you will be notified with a message on the site (it sometimes sends two or three messages, a bug that will be fixed) and the challenge can be seen in the 'Challenges' section of that ladder, where you can respond to it, so clan leaders, remember to log in to check your messages.

When a challenge is accepted and the match is scheduled, the selected server will be booked for two hours, for example 18.00-20.00, so another match can be scheduled for the server after the match (20.15-22.15) or before the match (15.45-17.45). If you get an error about server not available when challenging, either choose another server or change the match-time accordingly.

Remember to report the match scores right after the match to update the rankings on the ladder. Make sure both clans report the score properly.

If there are troubles/conflicts, use the support-ticket system to open a ticket which the admins will then respond to.

Also remember: You can join the ladder while it is running, so if you were late for the launch, no worries! You can still join up.

Server crash

Hello. My server is crashing some times. That crashs started 2 days ago and i don't know why. Usually is crashing when is changing maps. Here is the log of the last game crash:

Suggestions to aid teamplay

As we all know, Killing Floor is a co-operative shooter, so here's a few things I thought would help the average pub players coordinate their efforts better.



1. Player Wishlist:

A team's choice of weaponry is obviously vital to their success, so I figure a function in the game, say in the scoreboard, for a player to show everyone else what they're wanting to get would help coordinate everyone's choices and getting off-perk weapons.



2. More specific Look Out! voice commands

You know, for saying there's Fleshpounds about your angle when you're a Firebug or Commando, or a group of Sirens when you're a Berserker, that kinda thing.

I tried adding this command to toggle the HUD on/off with a button to the config file B:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Config\ROInput.ini and adding this bind with the ingame console (by pressing ^-Button).

Spamming threads on idas and suggestions

Why it isn't forbidden to make a lot of 3-4 lines threads in the ideas and suggestion section?



It makes me cry when i see someone just typing a pair of lines writing "this thing could be added!"



I am not against those suggestions, but i' d prefer to see thought posts, not "Add this, devs" or [NEW!] "Add this, Dibbler" posts.



In this way it seems like the thread opener just got up one morning and decided to tell the world his fantastic idea without using the brain on what he is writing.



Seeing these threads, a forum's visitor may even think we're only a bunch of crybabies shouting "i want it now!".




RO2 Boats

In RO 2, Boats should be added to cross river. I am talking about small Boats and Barks with 10 soldiers.




RO2 T 50 for soviet

T 50 could be added for Soviet.



In little number they have been created. But it's a nice introduction to T 34.



T 50 is the tank who is the bridge between T 70 and T 34.




RO2 amphibious panzer

Amphibious panzer could be added.



They exist in German and in Russian version.



For Soviet :

T 37 amphibious

T 38 amphibious

T 40 amphibious



For Germans :

Tauchpanzer Panzer III amphibious

Tauchpanzer Panzer IV amphibious



So we can have fight about crossing river.

Tauchpanzer have been used in starting of operation Barbarossa to cross river.

KF To mourn Killing Floor: A Reflection







In the wake of the announced Killing Floor 2, I was recently inspired to make a video to sum up all the things the community loves about the survival horror classic that has stapled itself to video game community in recent years, to both admire the aspects of the great ZED killer why helping people transition on a happy note to the new age of Survival Horror, curtsey of Tripwire and it's loyal cult following.



How are you dealing with the thought that soon we will be killing Z.E.D.s in unimaginable ways, for incalculable hours, while the old trusty unreal engine powered classic gather dust, satisfied at a job well done?



For me it was the understanding that the update would be an indeed welcomed change, as the graphics even with their astethics 90's horror feel, has still not aged as we'll as one would hope. Alongside the realization that much of what was loved about the game would indeed, still remain unchanged.



When we really reflect on it, the reason Killing Floor has stood the test of time is that it appeals the much more primal side of us; reaching back into that dark and destitute origin from which man himself was birthed. Having the core foundations of masculinity that appeal universally to all men:



A small team of dependable, capable warriors : Men you can count on to get the job done, all with their individual strengths and weakness's.



A Universal Foe : The creatures that lay outside the pack waiting in the dark, now so bold that they would strike at the day. Differences disappear, and new bonds are forged.



Brutal Survivalism : The need to be strong within the group means in group competition. Your team needs to know you're strong, but more importantly, the enemy needs to know your stronger than they are.



It is these things which I believe bind us together, that the competition and need for traditional masculine virtues push each other and ourselves to keep striving for the next level in the fight against a infernal enemy.



And when you realize that much of that will remain consistent in Killing Floor 2, I was able to relax.



As the old saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

RO2 OT-34 and Panzer 4 F1

I know that the community wants to see new tanks very badly, and I understand that they are very Time consuming and complicated to make, so I would like to suggest two new tanks that would require very little effort to implement (compared to completely new vehicles) What i am suggesting is the Panzer 4 (a version between A-F1) for the germans.





and the OT-34 Flamethower tank for the Russians.





I think this would create some significantly more variety in armored combat with little developement effort (compared to new tanks all together)

Pros

  • New Tanks

  • Could reuse animations, edit the meshes, change stats as needed, basically reducing the cost of adding these vehicles.

  • The T-34 would have a flamethrower (could be resued / edited from Rising Storm's flamethrower)

  • Another version of the panzer 4, would be usefull in clearing out citys and would give map makes some more options.




Cons

  • Still requires (presumably) alot of work

  • Would need to edit meshes




Anyways, I would absolutly love to see these two in game, what does the rest of the community think?

yes i got a vac ban from MW2 im not going to deny it but it was 3 years ago and i never used anything since and now after i pay you money for your game i get banned from this as well? this is a stupid idea. if you want to do something like this at least this about it if a fair way and make an option to limit the settings to ban players with vac ban in the last 6 months or a year. why people that got banned 2-3 or more year ago need to suffer because you people didn't think if over all the way?

you just wanted our money and that's it?

DLC packs

If and when they put out DLC they could put in a military pack that includes 4 or 5 soldiers from around the world. Note all would be from different countries so one could support they own military. :)




Alternative to ServerAdsKF that displays message longer?

Is there an alternative to ServerAdsKF that displays the messages longer?



I've played on servers that the message stays up for longer than the default 3-4 seconds that ServerAdsKF does, and I'm wondering if there's an alternative to ServerAdsKF or is there a way of fixing ServerAdsKF to increase the message duration?




Realistic bipod deploying and relative sound

Now, in the game it seems that the bipod simply levitates into the air, and theresn't a sound of "deploying weapon".

However, why should i talk about how would i like to see it when i can simply link a video where it is shown?:D

[Question] Negative 1 Players/Empty Servers

I've checked both Rising Storm and Heroes of Stalingrad, and they both show that negative players are online, and that there are a whole host of empty servers. I thought Steam was supposed to keep the game updated for me. What do I do?

Maybe it's possible to do it. Because working with tank and vehicle and have no experience in the end of a game is strange. Why we have it with infantry weapons, and not with tank and vehicle ?




RS Type 96 LMG

Hi all, this is my first thread and post, im and almost new player (56 hours played) and I have some doubts about the japanese weapons. I always play on RS expansion and always in the japanese side. My favourite classes are Machine gunner and Mortar.

My question is this, what are the advantage of Type 96 LMG? apparently the Type 96 is worse and less modern than Type 99 and only have the bayonet extension in lvl 25 but the type 99 get a scope in lvl 50 too. I have seen very few people using the Type 96 and as I think this MG is "filler" just because was used in that theater of operations.

RO2 Crewmovement in tank..

I see it still happening and it still costs me many virtual lifes.



When i want to go from my driverseat to the gunview seat why do i have to

go firstly with my head out of my tank??? And it also causes that you can`t handle quickly when you see an enemy.



This problem is a long time already and i hoped it was handled in the last patch.



It`s really rediculous.

Shouldn't the subscriber version of the issue with the KF2 article already be out by now?

If so, is it within legal range to publish screens of the KF2 article?

I remember the PC Gamer article of RO2 being leaked on the forums as well.

[FAN-ART] "Fleshpound of Fire"

Hey, guys.



I really appreciated one of the screenshots for the upcoming sequel, but in my mind, it looked awful a lot like Battlefield 3 "Man of Fire" art. I ended up trying to replicate it by following a rather basic and quick tutorial. - Though it did not come out as I expected, a little bit more professional that is or even slightly better looking, I think I did an okay job.

[Killing Floor Games] What you like to see?

Hello everybody!



As most of you have already seen or participated in, Killing Floor Games is a new function to which we'll see returning events. A new tournament is coming soon and we are busy upgrading several factors.



During this time, we would like to ask the community for things they wish to see (please note that not all changes will take effect immediately as this will be a development over time). People will have very different and elaborate perspectives and thus we would like to ask of you to keep it constructive. We can't go into discussion with every single detail but will certainly take your feedback into consideration.

While we dont want to spoil everything already, below a few things we are working on:



*New map rotation system

New system to random select a map

*New sign up system on the killingfloorgames.com

Sign up system on the website wich provides team leaders confirmation mails, info etc.

*New bracket system/elimination mode

New tournament system where teams fight against eachother for the best time, teams play the same map when they fight each other, winner passes to the next round.

-Some new tournament rules and upgrades

*Work in progress at the moment

'Dosh = Life' Mod

Here's a concept I pitched for KF1 in the steam forums ages ago (to much booing. But Steam Forums is a horrid place and everyone in it hates everything)





The idea, quite simply, is that your current health value and current cash balance would always be equivalent. This would lead to some.. rather interesting effects on how the game is played:


  • Spend a lot of money on big fancy guns? Good job, you're almost dead now.

  • Act recklessly and lose a bunch of health? Now you can't afford your big guns.

  • Survive a bunch of waves and spend frugally? You've got as much health as the patriarch! Go wrestle a fleshpound with your knife, you beast you.

  • Donate some dosh to a friend? You are literally shortening your life to grant them more.

  • Everyone could throw a bunch of dosh on one player to super-power him with insane health levels. Most likely a berzerker..

  • Medics will tend to blast streams of dosh at dying teammates rather than heal them. "Call me the U.S. government because I'm giving YOU a bail-out, chum"




Some things would have to change, of course. The medical syringe (including from medic guns) would have to do something other than restore health, perhaps granting a small amount of armor (~10%?) on each injection.



Cash payouts and Zed damage would have to be balanced. Maybe some other auxiliary gameplay additions like.. random zeds being visually marked and giving bonus cash payouts on kill (either added with the normal kill reward automatically, or perhaps dropped on the floor where the Zed was standing), or reward multipliers during ZED-time. (features that would make fun mini-mutators for any game type, if you don't mind the arcade-y-ness) perhaps your cash/life amount would gradually diminish over the course of all active waves (because time IS money) with the bounty/wave complete rewards increased to compensate..



There'd have to be some kind of limiter that prevents you from spending or tossing dosh if you're only holding X amount or less. You'd have to spawn with a minimum amount of cash as well, with measures taken to prevent abuse of that...



Maybe on death, players would explode out the last cash they had to litter the floor around their corpse, to be picked up by teammates. Equal to their cash total 1s prior (or after last dropping cash, whichever happened more recently, to prevent abuse)





I think it would make for a very interesting experience and I'd be interested to see how players would adapt to such a rule change. How about you? Do you value your money as much as your health? :D




Positional Audio for crying out loud

Incorporating 'Positional Audio' would make this a whole new game.



There is so much I want to say but cannot as it is location specific; so much is lost on a tactical level.













Also I know this has been brought up before but it feels like a feature that nobody talks about and everybody would use, if they knew it existed (And maybe didn't have to deal with 3rd party software).

The game won't stard.

I brought this game a few weeks ago, I really like it but now I can't stard it. help me please




Improve Melee Damage for Type 96/99 Bayonet.

Afternoon guys.



The Bayonet attachment for the Type 96/99 is not fit for purpose.



The damage is so low that the player is rarely ever rewarded with a kill should he be able to close to melee range and score a direct hit. Certainly, it has never happened to me in over 250 hours of play - it has always taken two hits.



I propose that it should do more damage than the rifle bayonet. Firstly considering the greater weight that would be behind the thrust, and secondly considering the greater difficulty (lower speed) in reaching the target.



Of course, as the weapon is heavier, it is acceptable that melee speed is slower.

Alan Wilson voice actor demand thread

Alan Wilson is VP of Tripwire Interactive is a voice of many characters in the original Killing Floor as Male Voice One. KF 1 player has GOD power. GTFO!!

i have had enough of the b/s godlike power any player has on a server when it's populated by two players. (this only applies to a two player lobby, because if there are more, you assume the others would click ready) so you join a server and some muppet is just sitting in the lobby, probably also away from their pc. (either they are away, or they are indeed deliberatley doing or saying nothing, including not clicking ready) what can you do in such a situation? nothing. f***ing leave. the autostart timer does not kick in with two players. so if one player is a bastard, they can do nothing and the game will not start - not with just two of them. why? why give any stranger such power? how about the autostart timer kick in like it does when more players are available, even when "just" two are in a lobby? hey? HEY?
