Make each enemy (of the same type) slightly different

I think this is something that would significantly improve the feel of the game, and shouldn't be too much effort to implement.



Basically, when an enemy spawns give it slightly randomized attributes, such as:


  • Movement speed - Some move faster than others.

  • Size - Some are taller/shorter than others. It'd also be good if certain parts of the mesh (ie. the arms) could be slightly expanded so that some appear stronger than others.

  • Damage - A slight random modifier to the damage. Naturally bigger specimens will do more damage.

  • Health - Same as above (damage), but health.

  • Skin features - Some unique elements on the skin, such as tattoos and scars.




If done properly it'll be much more menacing when you have a squad of clots marching towards you, looking like individuals rather than instanced meshes. :)
