RO2 Suggestion : Add a GUI switch into the game

This has been mentioned by a lot of players since the release of RS. A lot of RO2-only players would greatly appreciate having an option to revert the game's GUI (Splash screen, menu music, main menu etc) back to the pre-RS update RO2 GUI. Which means no mention of RS except when joining an RS server. This is because that quite a few of RO2 only players simply do not like RS being pasted all over the game, and just want their Eastern Front focused GUI back. There has been threads/posts requesting the feature on the Steam Discussions as well. (Links below) An example of this would be Company Of Heroes 2 with the Western Front Expansion. The game changes the menu background and music accordingly to what you chose in the main menu. (Ostfront background and music for Soviet/Ostheer, Westfront background and music for USF/Oberkommando West) This will make the RO2 only playerbase happier and since it's an option, it won't be a bother to RS players. If Tripwire doesn't want to split the playerbase then this is the perfect addition. Enter your vote and/or post your opinion below! Some examples of the threads on the Steam discussions. There's a lot more on the discussions, just search with the tags of "old menu" "Menu switch" and the like.

Game crashes at start

So I can't get to run my RO2 for months since I tried to install this graphic enhancement mod:click!

I don't really know what I have done wrong but I just can't get the game to work again, redownloading and validating gamefiles didn't help at all. I also don't get how to use those "batch" files in the downloadfolder and feel completely helpless with the readme -_-

Don't want to miss the MG42, help me guys!

RO2 So are we able to host private servers?

I have read that you can and you can't, I'm not renting one so are we able to set up a home server?

Also what is the ABSOLUTE max player cap the game will do I read it can actually go over 64 is that true?

Uncut footage from late 1800s to 1945?

Hey guys,

This may be an amateur question because I've never really had to do any serious archival digging or citation for research before. I'm looking for some extensive and uncut historical footage from the late 19th century until 1945. Country of origin is irrelevant. I'm particularly interested in ww1 and ww2 and related European history - but am open to all kinds of historical footage!

My main gripe is this - I've watched nearly every ww1 and ww2 documentary on the internet, and ordered lots of DVDs of those that are not readily available for streaming. However, the footage is always extremely edited. I know for a fact that the cameramen did not turn off their cameras after 3 seconds of filming. But, no matter what the event, the cameraman, the country of origin, or the time period -- all these documentaries feature little 3 second blips. I understand this is effective for condensing extensive material into hour long pieces suited for auidences.... but I'm developing a more hardcore need for historical footage! I'm willing to sit through boring passages of Germans walking through snow -- I just want to experience as much of this film as I possibly can!

Another gripe... I was watching a ww1 documentary that had great footage of a Hapsburg party, where Franz Josef and the Archduke and many other prominent members of European Royalty were partying. Franz Josef gave the Archduke a smirk and walked away, you could see the archduke was a little brushed off and slightly irritated by this. But it's only like 15 seconds of footage. And when I try and google "Franz Ferdinand video" of course I'm only going to get 2 minute videos giving a BS synopsis of his assassination. If I look up "ww2 uncut footage" I get some video with that painfully ubiquitous requiem for a dream song and random blips and bloops of machine gun and artillery fire -- not real uncut footage! Even the stuff that looks like it's raw from a cameraman of Iwo Jima features very stop and go filming. It's just impossible to find footage with any real length through basic searches... I think I really need to look at museum archives, national archives, privately owned foootage.... stuff like that. But of course, if there's a simple website or uploader somewhere that's even better.

I understand -- time has killed the original footage. so has editing. so has censorship. so has carelessness, human error, and adulteration. not to mention stuff that's just plain gone forever.

Is there an archival site where I can dig into some real uncut historical footage? Even if it's a shipyard, or a Krupp factory, or a boring march... even it's not related to military history.... even if it's a Japanese street in 1936 or a Polish restaurant in 1928... I just want to be able to look through the microscope (telescope? kaleidoscope?) of history and immerse myself in a moment that was captured but has since long passed.... I really want to dig into some historical footage!

Can this game be hosted from a home server?

I will not rent a server ever so can I host a private one?

Also what is the absolute hard cap player limit (I have read this game supposedly can go above 64)

Invisible Specimens/zeds on Farm/SirensBelch

This is with a Linux server, and Windows client.

For a while, my server has had an issue with Farm, always having invisible specimens. I chalked it up to a simple, obvious bug and just removed it from the map list. It'll probably be fixed in an update soon enough.

Now, I've encountered the same bug on the new map SirensBelch. Anyone know where to start with this?

I saw a couple of threads about validating cache, and removing KillingFloor.ini, and User.ini, I've done this on both the server and client with the same result.

It seems to be fairly consistent for the past year, over the course of a couple of re-installations of both the server and client files. The only work around for the issue is to remove the maps from the maplist.

I'm assuming it has something to do with the Linux server.
