RS Which version should my friend buy?

I see Rising Storm for sale as download for $20.

Will that allow access to the Japanese maps only?

Or

Will he get the Russian German maps only?

He is new to shooters, after years on MMRPGs and I thought he could the ropes fighting bots with me.

Welding strategies

I've read there that when making a map you can add weldable doors to a RoomDoorsList to prevent spawns inside a barricaded room.

* Is this put in practice in most maps ? at least stock maps ?

* Is it, in some cases, a viable strategy to barricade entire rooms ?

I've been experimenting in the police station in westlondon with no real success so far, does anyone have a suggestion to which door I should weld to minimize right-side spawns, here's a picture of the area

New modes!

I think that you need to add to the game at least one more mode! To be more diverse! Please please please!:)

Misc suggestions

Only a few.

a) Make armour take up Weight. In the first game, it wasn't even really a choice, you just buy it. It would be nice if you had choices and options. Similarly, I'm in the school of "make them have to re-buy the whole thing rather than repair it" although I understand how contraversial this is.

b) Make several different types of armour. Bullet proof vest, Full body armour, etc. These would have different costs, weights and protection. If you're a sharp and don't expect to get hit much, take a lighter one to give you room for more guns. If you're a zerker, take a heavier one as you'll be in combat more?

c) Make weight affect movement speed more. This would prevent everyone always taking 15/15 of weapons, because there would be a real point to carrying less weight (more manouverability). I know this was in the first game, but... not much.

d) Make weapon size affect movement speed more. Carrying a pistol and run faster, carrying an M99 and run slower. Same as c) it was in the first game, but not much. This would be a nice perk for the gunslinger, incase you're still looking for ways to balance the class.

e) This goes against the spirit of KF being quick, but I like it. Give each weapon achievements, hidden or not. ie. for the Xbow you might have:

Kill 100 Scrakes with an Xbow.

Kill 200 FPs with an Xbow.

Kill 1000 zeds with an Xbow.

Each achivement earned would unlock a different modification for the weapon, ie. killing scrakes might unlock a laser sight, killing FPs might unlock a scope etc.

From the main menu (when the player wasn't in a match) they would have the option of customising the weapon and choosing specific modifications. From a time PoV, players couldn't customise the weapons ingame, only outside the game.

These modifications would affect the weapon's use, but also change it's price to keep them balanced. It would not be possible to buy different versions of the weapon ingame, so if you've modded your AK47 to have an extended mag, but can't afford it now with the higher price, you're stuck until next wave when you have more money.

The last one would be fiddley and take a lot of work for TWI, but I like it so I'll suggest it.

D Day 70 years ago

RO2 Server terminated with VAC ban on record Red Orchestra 2

So I bought Red orchestra 2 the other day with great intent to play the game as I have been looking at buying it for a long time as I am into ww2. When I try to join servers it disconnects me with a message saying "Terminated".

I googled it and found that they have added a feature which blocks players with a previous VAC ban on record. I have a VAC ban from 3 years ago in the game mw2. Not only was this 3 years ago with no other VAC bans on record with a total of 58 games on my steam account, but the ban was bs, I had accidentally joined a hacked server which ranked me up to lvl 70... not my fault. Next thing I know im banned.

As I understood a VAC ban was limited to that game only, this new feature is absolute rubbish as it sits. VAC bans can never be removed, and I embraced that and moved on. But with a ban that happened 3 years ago and im being kick from a new game because of that is just not on. I would have never bought the game if I had known about it at the time.

I suggest the developers need to rethink this way of getting rid of cheaters by either having a time limit with VAC bans and joining RO2.. eg a 365 days since last ban and no other bans since or just have the conventional way of deal with cheaters. I love the game and would never cheat in any game, this feature just really sucks. A lot of steam players have been banned for something that is not their fault and shouldn't be punished for it on other games. Also if they do decide to keep this, they need to make it more clear to people before they purchase RO2 that they will not be able to play multiplayer with a VAC ban.

I thought this was because we did not participat yet in any ladder that our team profile was showing this message, but we played a match yesterday, and already reported it, but this message is still in our team profile page:

Not a terrible bug, but having our matches listed in profile for each ladder can be a good thing to have some kind of reminder or match review thing, some kind of history.
