It is ofc due to realism's sake. For what i've heard from the old soldiers:
"The 40mm launchers (type 69 RPG) made it extremely loud when firing."
"I had to speak very loud right beside his (a veteran RPG unit) ear in order to let him hear."
A newly recruit:
"I got my ear totally deaf for several days and then ringing till now."
Bring it to KF2:IS2:
