Mutli-Core support for KF2? (Based on UE3)

Mutli-Core support for KF2? (Based on UE3)

Can anybody point me to how many cores UE3 can utilize?

I've tried to find information on the subject of how many cores UE3 can utilize.

I'm asking because my most recent pc-gaming hardware right now is a MSI laptop.

Specifically, this one: http://ift.tt/1H4RXsE

I've been looking online, an apperently the best way to set up a gaming computer is to have Quad-Core in the 4.4 to 4.6 Ghz range, and then choose the best graphics card, ram, etc. Because apparently from some of the articles I've read, even games on the cutting edge (Far Cry 4 being the most recent example) only use 4, and even then only use most of the 1st and 2nd core, leaving the 3rd and 4th mostly unused.

So for a game like Killing Floor 1, I think the one 2.5 Ghz core utilized is okay for that old of a game engine. And UT3 runs extremely well on the system, but Boarderlands 2 runs extremely poorly (I actually blame Windows 8 for this), because that games wants more power from the individual cores and my laptop can't provide it.

So if you were building a system for this upcoming UE3 game, and you wanted to go balls-to-the-walls overboard (or to possible run the game in 2.5K, 3K, 3.5K or 4K resolution), what would you do?

Maybe you have recently built a system, are in the process, or are going to soon, would you care to mention and tips or important info I might miss?

I'm relatively new so-to-speak to PC hardware. My last 3D card was an ATI Radeon 9800.

This is the specific article I mentioned that gave me some concern:
