Okay, so we got answers to most of the same repetitive questions that always get asked. Graphics, Guns, Gore, yada yada yada. But still people seem to neglect asking questions that are actually important in terms of the actual immersion and intrigue that comes with horror games.
I feel that Killing Floor 2 is a proper chance to introduce a story to the game. The first game had a very vague, loose story that never really bound us to the characters or maps. I know the game is really just about mindless killing, mindless in the sense of "You're here. Kill these things. Get Dosh, Repeat." There was a cannon story in the first game that ended off with a lot of questions left unanswered. There can still be a story incorporated through easter eggs and map elements. The Nazi Zombie mode in Treyarchs Call of Duty games is at heart, a survival mode, but each map tells a story. There are actually hidden objectives that give players a new incentive to staying alive and also adds to the tension while under combat.
Tripwire has given backgrounds to maps and characters, but the game would be a lot more fun in my opinion if there was more than mindless killing. It'd be nice to uncover one of the characters past or a shocking revelation about the map your on. I mean, it is a horror game, so it would add atmosphere to give everything more meaning. It adds a new layer to the games immersion factors.
My question is really, has a cannon story with more in depth telling been considered, or did I just give you guys at Tripwire a good idea?:D
