Ro1/DH/MN are some of my favorite games of all time. Ro1 is the game that made Tripwire when they won the Make Something Unreal contest about a decade ago.
RO1 currently languishes for no good reason, when it should be enjoyed by thousands! There are 3 descending things Tripwire should do about this.
1. Make the game free on Steam. Straight up free. Bring in thousands of players and end up selling 1000's of copies of Ro2 because people inevitably love the first so much. Inspire amazing good will in PC community.
2. Give away free RO1 steamkeys with purchases of Killing Floor and/or RO2. Add 1000s to the games population, inspire amazing good will in PC community. 1000's of copies of RO2 are sold in addition when Killing Floor is the game in question.
3. Put RO1 in an upcoming Humble Bundle, hopefully in the proud Risk Of Rain tradition where multiple keys are given so people can gift them to friends. ROR included 4 keys. The money goes to charity, the game gets 1000s of players, goodwill is inspired in the PC community. 1000's of copies of RO2 are sold in addition.
Please don't just let RO1 languish. Let people play it. Give it away for free, or as free as you can manage, and by doing so you will end up reaping more profits through other titles.
