Sci-Fi Weapons?

KF1 experimented a little with Science-Fiction-ey weapons later on, so there's a possibility we could see something in KF2. (In fact, since there are still two entire perks completely unknown to us, it's possible one of them could be a "Scientist" perk that specializes specifically in scientific or experimental weaponry. ;) )





First, direct your attention to the poll above: Would you rather KF2 not include ANY weapons that don't exist in practical form in real life? Are you okay with experimental sciencey weapons, but only ones based on feasible science (IE there has been some kind of real-life prototype to demonstrate the principles, and simple impracticalities or power source concerns are the only reason we don't give them to our soldiers, like a Laser gun) or are you okay with straight up science-fiction fair like anti-gravity beams or slow-rays?





And below: Suggest specific weapons you would like to see.





Me? I'm partial to an electro-laser. Based on real-life experiments, it turns out that if you take two weapons-grade lasers and fire them on the same target at the same time, they heat and expand the air they pass through and those air channels are an excellent electrical conductor; you can actually send a massive electrical charge between the weapon and the target through the circuit (hence needing TWO lasers) and zap it. Plus, you just shot it with two lasers!



In-game representation: A twin-barreled laser rifle. Primary fire alternates shots from the two lasers to cause light explosive damage from flash-heating. Alt fire preps the weapon for a second and then fires both lasers at the same time; if they strike the same Zed then a large portion of the power supply is immediately drained and a "lightning bolt" blasts the sucker. KRA-KOW.
