One thing that bothers me about the 9mm is that it's not all that useful, which is understandable since it's more of a side arm. But I still think it doesn't make sense for it to be useless outside of being a last resort. While Killing Floor 2 encourages aiming for the head, it doesn't seem all that helpful in the 9mm's case since it takes a couple shots to even decapitate a simple clot. While I think the 9mm should be weak, I think it should be stronger than it is currently where the knife does just about as much damage as the 9mm despite being a gun. It would be nice if it was either stronger, or did more damage on headshots. I can see this not working so well for larger zeds like gorefasts, but it should at least be able to one-shot a clot's head, even if it doesn't kill the body. I understand this could raise some balance issues with the knife as well. I won't go too far into that since it's a separate topic.
I should note, though that in the original Killing Floor your load out was nice even if you didn't spawn with a perk weapon. Knife could easily one-shot a clot's head, and so could the 9mm. The difference between them is that knife was great for reserving ammo and taking out lone zeds, and 9mm was great for dispatching a large group of zeds. They weren't over-powered, but they weren't useless either.
