I feel killing floor suffers from having a spawn cap limit of 32 zeds at any one time. It offers less variety in the hordes and makes the horde pathetic looking on maps like farm.
Another issue is intelligent zed spawn placement
Players are able to further abuse the zed spawn limit by gathering all the zeds into a single horde by constantly running through the level. Once you deal with the first group it progressively becomes easier as all the slower and more dangerous zeds fall behind into the group while the advance is usually only challenged by clots, stalkers, or crawlers. A more intelligent spawning system would put much more heavier contest like sirens and fleshpounds in front of the team to add more variety to the gameplay.
I hope both of these things can be improved in some way in killing floor 2.
