I have seen a number of different suggested weapons lists for this class now and thought I would throw in my two cents. First off a number of things need to be considered: A) that kf2 is a lot faster than kf1 and headshots can be considerably harder. B) that a sharpshooter should have true precision weapons and absolutely no pistols (which I think is taken care of with gunslinger)
Currently on most mod maps that could really use a sharpshooter, I often end up playing commando with a scar on single fire and pick enemies far off in the distance, as it is, playing like that can be quite effective at decapitating bloats sirens and husks in the far distance before they are any threat. If the sharpshooters weapons are too slow they end up being inferior to a precise commando. For this reason I think the m14 from kf1 or at least a battle rifle like it is absolutely necessary.
All that said for weapons I am thinking simpler and familiar is better.
Tier 1: Lever action, Winchester or something like it
Tier 2: some kind of highly penetrating horzine crossbow (hi tech to explain how it shoots through so many zeds). The crossbow should cause stumble like the nailgun to save a sharpshooter who misses his shot in a pinch, should be difficult to use but powerful in the right hands like the old crossbow.
Tier 3: Some sort of battle rifle, the FN-FAL, M14 are good choices, for something cooler looking the RFB hunter variant would be really fun to shoot and I know others would agree (RFB is in high demand low supply right now) http://ift.tt/1OYCziV
Tier 4: .50 Cal, however using the standard barrett .50 cal is not only overdone but quite frankly absolutely ridiculous. It looks dumb and makes no sense that someone is running around like that shooting it. I am thinking some kind of horzine sized down .50 cal that is highly penetrating and maybe has some kind of advanced optics that can highlight enemies. or maybe the Leader by Micor .50 cal bullpup that is now taking preordershttp://www.guns.com/2012/09/25/micor-taking-pre-orders-for-leader-50-caliber-bullpup-now-entering-production/
