The game only started crashing after the latest update (the ~80 MB one).
Things I've tried:
verifying the cache
deleting the config folder in C:\Users\Home\Documents\my games\KillingFloor2\KFGame\ and then verifying the cache
reinstalling the game
reinstalling everything in the redist folder
reinstalling/updating my video drivers
