Suggestion- weapon jamming when reloading

I'm no expert in arms handling or anything, but I've seen videos of skilled weapon reloading techniques and they usually emphasize the importance of checking the weapon after reloading to see if it has jammed. My suggestion is this- incorporate this as a game mechanic.

Say every weapon has a percent chance it will jam upon reloading. The reloading animation would have a segment where the character checks the bolt/chamber/whatever its called. The player must keep an eye on this segment of the animation, or else they wont be able to tell if the weapon has jammed.

If the weapon jams from the reload-

-Firing the weapon will force the character to fiddle around with the weapon in order to get it back into a firing state. This wastes a lot of time and could obviously be a fatal mistake.

-Pressing the reload key with the magazine full will clear the jam in less time, a bullet is wasted/lost.

If the weapon does not jam from the reload-

-Firing the weapon operates it as normal.

-Pressing the reload key with the magazine full will still waste a bullet and take up unnecessary time.

I haven't seen this mechanic in a game before, and it seems easy enough to implement.
