Ok, so we have polls and threads about what expansions people would like to see for RO2. We also have people talking about what RO3 should be, etc.
But I figured I'd take things into a different direction.
Even though I'm not a fan of Rising Storm, it had a very successful launch with few bugs and brought new and old players back into the fold.... many see RS as what RO2 should have been when it was originally launched.
Now Rising Storm is for the most part a completely different beast from Red Orchestra, yet uses many of the same mechanics.
In saying all of this, let's think outside of the box and hypothetically consider that maybe Red Orchestra needs to take a break regarding the next installment TWI makes.
Don't get me wrong, I loved ROCA, thought RO1 was alright and loved RO2 despite some issues..... overall, I had nothing but positive experiences with RO over the years, but we have also seen that TWI/RS Team can make something else outside of the Eastern Front enjoyable.
So let's say after Killing Floor 2 is out and doing its thing, RO3 hits the back burner and we instead see TWI taking the elements of RO / RS and putting them into a new aspect of WWII. What aspect would you like to see.
Keep in mind that Red Orchestra 3 in this hypothetical scenario will still come down the road after a bit of a break and people start craving it even more than if it just rolled out right away.
Same RO/RS Mechanics and gameplay feel (with obvious updates/improvements) but different WWII front, different military forces, different name that has no relation to Red Orchestra.
Some say they would like to see the US vs. Germany.
Others say they would like to see Commonwealth Nations vs. Germany.
There's also China vs. Japan, or Australia vs. Japan.
Then there's the African Front with a strong emphasis on Tank / Combined Arms Warfare.
The idea that came to my mind was to step away from the Red Orchestra Identity for a while and give the Eastern Front a break with a new identity.
I know what some are thinking.... "Heretic!!!" but it'll give TW a larger portfolio as well as give players something fresh and different, much like Rising Storm.
