New Game Mode Suggestion

I have an idea for a new game mode that I think would be a blast and can work very well with the killing floor setup.



KFDOTA

Killing Floor Defense of the Ancients



based off of DOTA, League of Legends, etc.



Overview:

o Two teams of players compete to destroy the opponent’s base.

o There are three paths connecting the two bases, with two turrets for both team along each path.

o Each team spawns NPCs frequently from the base that will move along the paths towards the opponent’s base, attacking the opponents as they encounter them



Players:

o Player perks are all reset to level 0 at the beginning of the match.

o Players level up within the match by killing opponent players, opponent buildings, opponent NPCs, or neutral NPCs.

-- Players earn dosh for these as well.

o Dosh is also given over time, at a fairly low rate.

o Players’ level all perks at the same time.

o Players can switch perks within a match at the appropriate trader. They will lose 33% of their level when they do.



Traders:

o Found at respective team bases. Traders will be open 24/7.

1) Weapon’s trader - to buy/sell weapons, ammo, and armor for dosh

2) NPC trader - to upgrade team NPCs for dosh. This is a team upgrade, meaning that individual can put money towards the upgrade and once the price is reached then the upgrade hits.

3) Perk trader - to switch perks at the cost of experience and minor dosh



Team NPCs:

o Will spawn at a regular interval and move along the paths towards the enemy base

o Donating money to the NPC trader could upgrade the following:

--Spawn frequency

--Spawn number

--Spawn class (spawns additional classes, not replacements)



Buildings:

o Turrets each path that will attack opponents. It will prioritize players over NPCs.

--Two on each path.

--Will take significantly reduce bullet damage

o Base

--When destroyed, game ends

--Significantly reduces bullet damage and large health



Neutral NPCs:

o Located in various places in between paths that will attack any targets that get near. They respawn after a certain time. Players can kill them for experience and dosh. Maybe weapon/ammo drops too?



Balancing consideration needed for:

o PVP weapon damage

o Gun prices



Maybe players can earn ranks for victories/kills that carry over between games and can be visible for bragging rights but don't affect perk levels.
