How will Pistols be handled?

Hello there



In KF1, I have enjoyed using pistols. What I did not enjoy about them was that they were treated as sharpshooter main weapons, rather than secondary weapons accross the board. It made pistols an odd choice for anyone other than a sharpshooter.



Some people liked this as it was (lol) and some people didn't. There's been plenty of ideas floating around for totally new ways for pistols to be handled in the KF1 section.



Popular ideas consisted of different implentations: Changing the stats around so they're suitable to be totally off-perk, creating an entirely new pistol-focused perk, creating a range of pistols to be suited to different individual perks, giving different perks different bonuses to the existing pistols, making pistol proficiency an odd "side-perk" that everyone had on them at all times, etc etc.



Lots of ideas, really.



TL;DR Have the guys at Tripwire worked on any new implementations for sidearm-style weapons?
