Firebug and mistakes of the past. Please not again.

There was alot of debate (and still is) about the Firebug perk as a whole in Killing Floor the Game (not the old mod).

Many believed his dps was an issue. Some believed his ammo consumption was an issue.

And while some of these points were debatable there was one thing that most agreed on and was never fixed in the original game and it absolutely CANNOT happen again in Killing Floor 2.

And that issue is the Firebug blinding his team with his flame particles.

Tripwire, please. This is the chance to fix this. It wasn't fixed in KF1 and is still a huge issue. Fire particles in games usually shade additively, this is just how it tends to go to create a believable lighting effect. But in KF1 it only takes a few poofs of fire to create a wall of PURE WHITE that is impossible to see through. The effect is too strong and has been since launch.

This has made life very difficult for classes that are ranged, which was everyone but the berzerker. The only class getting a free pass were commandos due to the health bars above zeds.

Another problem was the fire making the zeds hitboxes spaz everywhere even if their bodies were not moving, causing players to become inaccurate through NO fault of their own.

In short: THE FIREBUG HURTS HIS TEAM BY BEING PRESENT AND TRYING TO HELP.

Killing Floor is a team-based game.

Stuff like this should not happen.

People have learned to deal with these problems in the original game. Which is fine because its an ancient game running on an ancient engine.

It's 2014. People shouldn't have to deal with it anymore. You have the power to get it right this time. Please please get it right.
