I think it'd be interesting to award skill points, in KF2, that can be used to make characters with custom perks, allowing you to mix and match traits, creating the character performance that YOU want. It'd be attached to a leveling system, along with the points, and carefully calibrated point costs, designated to different skills, preventing players from creating characters which are extremely OP. The skill point cost will vary based on the perk and how strongly it's buffing you.
This specific class would be a fully customizable class, where you could take perks from commando, medic, demo, etc.
And combine them based on your whims, assuming you have sufficient skill points, to do so. Let's call him 'Jack of all trades' just to designate it.
Other classes can use the same system, that allow players to control how their perks are boosted. For example, A low level berserker can boost their running speed (at the cost of not using those points for another skill, let's say 'increased melee damage' for example)
Again, the higher the skill, the more points it costs to continue to further buff that skill (until you max it out at the set value)
The difference would be, unlike the 'Jack of all trades' the other classes(medic, demo, commando, firebug) cannot get cross class perks. Their perks are only customizable in regards to how many points go where, for their set skills.
