RO2 Serious suggestion about PTRS.

We know that german captured PTRS with better ammo exists in game only to let germans penetrate T34. So we have system where both teams have 1 tank and both teams have ATR that can penetrate enemy tank with same success.

this is completely wrong from historical point of view but it balance teams.

But there will be added new vehicles soon. Armored transporters will come in this month, light tanks and other vehicles will come later. It means that this historically inaccurate, but balancing scheme " overpowered ptrs vs t34; low power ptrs vs pz4 " will become broken because there will be new vehicles with different armor. So germans will get much more powerful ATR than russian just for no reason and it will also disbalance game in opposite side from really existed situation. So i suggest to change the ATR situation in game. Just make 2 PTRS same in characteristics, i see 2 ways here:

a) make 4 different PTRS in game. The b-32 ( low penetration ) and bs-41 ( hi penetration ) variants for both sides. You can make better variants together with new " elite AT " role, or as role unlock in game.

b) 1) reduce pzb penetration to ptrs level 2) add 50lvl weapon unlock for both sides which will give you better bs-41 rounds with high penetration.

c) 1) reduce pzb penetration to PTRS level 2) add both ammo types ( low and high penetration ) for both ATRs in game. Ammo change by "6" button. So, both rifles will have, for example, 3 clips of b-32 and 2 clips of BS-41.



for me C is the best option.

The first answer that i would probably get on this suggestion is " THIS IS A BIG CHANGE! we cant make such big change in game! players are playing 3 years with these weapons and we cant just remake it from 0! "

There is one " but ". You ALREADY change situation cardinally by adding new vehicles. You ALREADY change the " atr-armor" situation conversely. With new vehicles, this wonky " balance " with german overpowered PTRS will collapse and this giant historical mistake will only disbalance the game.

So, if you change PTRS characteristics like i suggested together with adding new vehicles you will not make big change at all - because its already done by adding new vehicles. For this i call my suggestion " serious " because i really hope TWI will hear and add it to game, unlike many other suggestions that are written here and even discussed, but obviously will never be added to game.
