I'm playing the tutorial right now, and on the firing range I was told to sight the K98k in to 300m. I'm thoroughly confused as to how to know what range intervals the sights have—I can't make out any notches or numbers stamped on the sight in-game. I guessed that it may be 100m increments and I clicked the sights up three times, which led to repeatedly missed targets until I put the sight all the way back down.
Now I'm a gamer, not a trained rifleman, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was just assumed common knowledge. I looked around online and from these K98k sight pictures, and it looks like those sights go from 400m to 2000m in 100m intervals. But why would I be told to sight the rifle out to 300m if the bullet drop is negligible up to around 400m?
More important than this specific confusion though, what is the best way to figure out this sort of thing on my own? Or do I just have to ask?
