My suggestion is to scrap the separate rosters for each tournament and just go with the main team roster. It's a pain to have to first add a player to the general roster, then add them manually to the tournament roster. I invite the player for a reason and by extent he should be permitted to play in any tournament by default.
I can't think of the reason why they were implemented in the first place. I guess the only thing I can think of is to prevent a player to go behind the team leaders back and participate in a tournament that the team leader does not want him to participate in.. This feels way overkill though and an unnecessary help to team leaders, who should be able to keep track of their members anyway.
