Two quick ideas to consider.
The first idea is to lock the guns in a perk tree until you reach a certain rank. Let's say beserker gets 7 weapons. He could start with 2 or 3 unlocked, and another one unlocked every couple levels after that. By the time he gets to rank 10 or 12 he should have all the weapons already, which ties into the second idea:
Weapon Progression through use. Based on your kills with a certain weapon, you could unlock "pro" skins for it, or even a very slight stat boost for it. This could also be changed for sharpshooters so their unlocks are accuracy based instead of kill count. Let's say you get 300 kills in a match with above 65% accuracy. This rewards you for the most-used weapon that match. Both of these ideas I feel will add more depth by giving you something to work towards besides pure rank, yet could be satisfying without being OP. Challenges could be completed similar to achievements, and you could cash challenge points in for an extra pistol mag or a chrome pistol skin. Or a rusty Katana (tetinus ftw) or a duct tape shotgun grip. We could do aesthetics only or go for small improvements as well, but that might not go well with the classes already getting bonuses on rankup.
