RS New Japanese weapons

There seems to be a general lack of automatic and semi auto weapons for the Japanese team.



Apparently, the Japanese got a few Mauser C96's (easy port over from RO2) Probably better as an unlock, or Squad/Team leader only.

I'd also like to see a Beretta Modello 38 as a Japanese Veteran Assault class unlock. Japan had at least 50 in service at one point, by 1943



It proved to be a very good SMG both Axis and Allies were reported to both utilize captured guns, because of how well they performed.



That or an MP18 would be nice...



Type 26 revolver would be cool to see, too.




KF xp not saving properly? help please

i am having some trouble getting some of my xp points to save right ingame.

i am trying to find a effective way to grind damage xp for my commando perk.

so i tryed poundemouniam long,beginer,and it really work,by the time i was done i had racked up almost 200k damage xp,but when the game ended all my xp was reset to what it was when i had started!:eek: its very annoying and i want to know if anyone has any idea this happens,i did use a some mods to give me a bit of a boost,but i didnt think mods would do that,but if anyone knows for sure,it would love it if you would share




Marked as Uninstalled in Steam

Hi,



I bought Killing Floor earlier this week, and I've been playing quite a bit over the last few days.

When I went to play it yesterday, it was marked as an uninstalled game in my Steam library --- even though I was playing the game a few hours before.



When looking around my computer, I found all the files were intact. I tried "Verifying the Cache", but Steam wouldn't allow that option cause the game didn't seem to be installed. So I immediately deleted the game files, downloaded it again, and it worked. (Actually, it didn't work right away... After the whole process of re-downloading the game; it looked installed in Steam, but the game wouldn't start up. I deleted killingfloor.ini, and then the game launched properly)



But it just happened again Today...

I logged on to Steam and it's marked as uninstalled.



Any help appreciated!

RS Rifleman class pushed to the limit

I was recording a gameplay demo for youtube to see the new 60 fps capabilities. In the recording, a little funny killing spree occurred in the video at 7:10 until i was binoed to death XD. Also, how did i miss the guy at 3:37? My aim was clearly in his heart area.... Also, if you slow down the video using the youtube settings, I shot the guy again before he shot me. But i think that can be exempted since latency might be the problem there.

KF Marked as Uninstalled in Steam

Hi,



I've been playing Killing Floor over the last few days.

When I turned on Steam yesterday, it was marked as uninstalled. But when I looked around in my computer, I found that all the Killing Floor files were still there. Steam isn't recognizing that it's in my computer!



I deleted all the files, and re-installed it, and it started to work. (Actually at first it wouldn't get past the loading screen. But after deleting killingfloor.ini, it started to work again)



But the same thing happened today when I went into Steam --- it looked uninstalled, but it isn't, all the killing floor files are still in my computer.



Anyone have similar problems?

RO2 VAC banned for nothing?

I decided to play RO2 again for the first time in over 6 months. I could join servers but I got disconnected with the PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed error.



I reinstalled punkbuster with the pbsvc_hos.exe in the binaries folder, two times. After that I stopped getting the error and could play fine for a few hours.



Now (havent played since that), 2 days later im VAC banned on RO2. No clue why, im pretty sure some punkbuster problems triggered this false ban. Does anyone know where you can appeal VAC bans and such? :IS2:




Full Body Awareness (FBA)

Don't know if there was a similar topic, but yesterday when I tried to place a booby trap, I didn't see my legs. As a result of that, I noticed that I didn't have my own shadow!

And so i discovered that this game doesn't use the FBA.

In my opinion that's really bad:

1) because I'm not a ghost but a "real" player

2) because when someone hit me, it is natural to check where is the injury and the extent of damage

3) small things like that, really immerse you into the game (which is pretty important thing). So FBA = more realism

4) It happen often to watch the textures of the soil or simply to place a booby trap



So please, hope you consider my suggestions and start working on it.




Somebody made mut which replaces zeds with toys

That's exactly what I was waiting for. Mutator that replaces zeds with toys! It also includes big versions of big face and more. It was made by Cakedog and it's available on workshop (there's also direct download link provided):

Breaking Bones

Since the devs have done an amazing gore system already, would you people like to hear how the bones break when shot/hit with a weapon?



If we're getting any blunt weapons, the sound of a clot's ribcage smashing to pieces would be so rewarding. Firearms and explosives would cause this as well naturally.



Shooting zeds would become a symphony composed of pained groans, roars, blood splattering, weapons firing and bones breaking. Not just eye candy, but "ear candy" as well.



If this is already a feature, can someone tell me?

Grouping of Suggestions

I have a small list of suggestions for KF2



1 -Zed Interaction

Many late nights, I have found myself blasting away at clots with the 9mm in the streets of West London, wishing that the zeds wouldn't just run into each other while they scramble to get obliterated. The addition of interaction between specimens would help create an atmosphere of blood thirsty monsters who want to be the first to cut you open. They should be able to fight over food, stumble over each other, irritate each other, and face off against each other. Not to mention pushing each other out of the way to get to you.Wouldn't it be interesting to hide behind an object and watch a bloat face off against a gorefast? This brings me to my next suggestion.



2 -Stealth

Killing Floor is a run and gun game meaning Killing Floor 2 will be a run and gun game. But every run and gun game needs a few moments for the player to catch his breath. By this I mean, the actual implementation of stealth.The specimens should use their senses to tell where you are. They should listen for their comrades growls and screeches and act upon what they hear, see, touch, and maybe even smell. This would allow players to hide behind objects or sneak up on some unwary clots and slice 'em open with a katana from behind.



3 -Flashlights

One of the most irritating things about Killing Floor is not being able to see in certain areas and being forced to pull out a weaker weapon to navigate corridors. More weapons should have a flashlight attachment or at least a perk unlockable for all perks. This would add ease of access to the players and not be too hard to achieve.




Rising Storm: Vietnam?

Has Tripwire considered making a Vietnam Themed game with RO2/RS styled gameplay? That's something I'd pay money for.




TF2 style loading screen (eg stats)

Probably not best title to get across my idea.



Basically I'd love if there was somewhere that's often seen (like a loading screen, or a menu that's not buried under more than 1 level), that had some simple stats for each perk, like time played, highest score in a round and most used weapon.



It's just something that can be fun to compare with friends. Especially if it's something on the loading screen you can do while you're all loading into a game together.




What do you think about collectables?

Tripwire seems to put them on almost all maps (and yes I know clandetine was made by swift not TWI).

So i decided to get back into killing floor and realized that most of the maps from the kf-ultimate pack are pretty much out dated. additionally i would rather not navigate that web design nightmare steam calls the workshop. i mean seriously add a freaking advanced search function :P



so my question is what is currently the most complete and up to date compilation of custom maps i can get in a single zip download ??




Help finding a Mutator

Im trying to find a substitute for Marco's Survival Endless since a KF update broke it :mad: . Ive found a few that are similar, like KFO survival maps, but they lack a trader. Also the Swarm on steam workshop, but its clot only. It seems like Marco abandoned Survival Endless, so I hit a wall here :confused: . Any suggestions?

Also, ive been looking for a Max ammo mutator, but it seems there's only a infinite ammo mut. Any Help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

KF Game Crashes When i Try To Join a Server

When i try to join some servers my game crashes. My friends can join this servers but i can't :(



I'm on a Linux Ubuntu 14.04 computer and my graphics cards is updated.



I try this things to fix and i keep getting errors:



Verify Game cache in steam



delete system folder and verify cache



delete KillingFloor.ini and verify cache

Infinite Error

I purchased killing floor and installed the game with no problems. I have a good internet connection and some experience hosting servers for friends at other games, so I want to run a dedicated server for Killing Floor and unlike other games it seems a lot more hard. I followed that tutorial:

After finishing it, I tried to start the server and I ALWAYS get the same error



So I used a port checker to see if I opened all the needed ports and it says everything is opened. So why? Is the master server wrong? My kllingfloor.ini:

[Video] Sooo I flew in a B-25 last weekend ...

... and it was AWESOME. The Commemorative Air Force came to my home town of New Orleans and brought with them a B-25, B-29, B-17, B-24, Helldiver, P-51, and a few other planes to look at, explore, and take rides in. Nearly all of the aircraft in the CAF's national 126-aircraft fleet are in flying condition.



The first day I basically just paid the entrance fee to see the aircraft and explore them, but I was talked into buying a ride by a friend and some pilots with the CAF. The next morning I went up in their B-25J for 45 minutes and have no regrets. The B-25 is one of my all-time favorite planes, so it was an unforgettable experience.



I took plenty of footage and photos while I was up and compiled them into the video, below. Enjoy!

KF KfModPerkReplacement 1011.u bug?

Cheers to all!I don t know how to start this topic to understand my point.Ok I download mutator:KfModPerkReplacement 1011.u from Marco and I think this mutator have bug ,but im not sure.And I say that because yesterday I make my own server and all 10 people who join on my server told me they CAN'T choose berseker mode...Why?

I mentioned all class like: support specialist,medic.commando,firebug,sharpsoter work.Only berseker mode is bugged.Is a new KFmodPerkReplacement available or not?

KF Zed gun problem

Hello i have a problem with this weapon. i recover all the pieces of this gun several months ago but i cant buy it. and my others friends yes.



a question.. when all the pieces are collected spawn the achievement? because in my case it wasnt happen that.



A friend gave me the zed gun but when i trie to make the achievement called "Game Over, man" dont work it. dont count the zeds.



what can i do? oh! who can help me?

I'll just be quick.

Killing Floor 2 should include trick jumps and map scaling. Like in CS: GO. You can jump on stuff and climb structures. The Zeds can still reach you though. It adds to the manoeuvrability and skill demand.

I'm not sure whether it was a sprinting ability that I saw in the gameplay trailer. If not, please. Thanks in advance.

Oh and, maybe it's a little tangent to the guns-blades-blood rule. But can we have a game mode where players control a civilian, trying to escape an estate? There's like specimens wandering around everywhere. And we have to use flares, alarms, glass bottles, the sewers, rubbish chutes, vents...anything to distract and evade the Zeds. Get out of the building and make it out of the city alive. Chapter by chapter. And once we successfully escape the city with one character, he/she is unlocked. Different characters, different scenarios. I believe this can REALLY make the game more immersive. It's like you're really facing these things, like it could really happen to you tomorrow when you wake up. But well *IF* there is enough time, that is. I don't mind waiting longer though.

And please can we have a tiny hint about the "new evil" that is brewing? The description of the map "Foundry" specifically states that Horzine is preparing a greater horror.

Okay now game mechanics. Grenades should have a better trajectory. Rockets and propelled grenades should always explode. Sometimes I shoot a Fleshpound in the abs and the rocket just disappears. And you guys accept that bug. Because there's an achievement for killing a Christmas Siren with an unexploded rocket. What the hell. Swimming in water should be a feature.

These are the more important stuff in my opinion. And I'm a pretty good FPS gamer, people said that. I know you don't believe that, but LOL. You should consider these. I swear it makes the game better.

So as the topic says I propose to reimpose the manner in adding a tank at the bag of the flamethrower gi. Whose with me.

Linux Verify Cache Function broken.

Returning to KF/Linux to find that when I verify my cache via Steam, apparently every file is invalid and needs reacquiring.



I'm unsure if this is a Tripwire issue or a Valve issue, but it's been like this since KF/Linux appeared. How can one know if any files are invalid if this mechanism is broken?



KF/Windows works as expected. I'm having to re-download 3.1GB (not nice on the backwards UK net!) if I want to validate. I hope my incandescent rage isn't mirrored in this post.



P.S. Couldn't find a Linux sub-forum, apologies if it's in the wrong place.

Old war stories from a veteran player.

I've been playing Killing Floor for a very long time. I consider myself a veteran player and I have a few good stories to share. It's been awhile since I've played so keep in mind I may make some errors in the miscellaneous details.



The first story I have is one of friendship, betrayal, and vengeance.



The map was Bedlam. This time was pre Hell on Earth difficulty when Suicidal was as hard as it gets.



I had a friend - a gaming buddy I had known for a very long time. When we played together we were as much rivals as we were friends. We always had each other's backs, but we'd never miss a good chance to one up each other either. Skill wise, we were pretty much equals in every game we ever played together.



The hallway on bedlam that is attached to the main courtyard. It has the front and back entrance and one window that you look out of to see outside the map. The usual spot where everyone camps, you know it if you've ever played Bedlam.



The team was holed up here. I always like to blaze my own trail during the early waves and run solo around the map. I was Commando, my friend who goes by the name of Thanatov was on Support. He had an AA-12, Dual Man Cannons, and the trusty Pump. I was beginning to get overwhelmed and decided to double back to base camp. As I'm approaching I tell Thanatov to make sure the front is clear for me so I can get in safe.



"No problem buddy." he says as he starts running towards the door to cover me. Wait a minute, he's not covering me, he closed the door and now he's welding me out!



I had no grenades left so I couldn't blow the door open. I try to make a run for it but my ammo is low and I'm surrounded. I die outside the door and all I can hear is Thanatov laughing over the mic.



I don't say a word. Thanatov already knows I'm plotting vengeance. I begin formulating a plan. I know how good he is, and I know he won't be leaving the camp spot. He knows I'm out for blood so he'll embed with the team so there's no way I can kill him... or is there?



Yes. There is a way. I just have to kill all my teammates first and then when he's the last man standing he'll be overwhelmed and die the death he deserves. I know exactly how I'll do it too.



Wave 8. The double fleshpound wave. I switch to beserker class. Wave 8 hits. I go for a roam to find the double fleshpound spawn. I find them damn near the other side of the map. No matter, I'll aggro them both then lead them straight to base.



I enrage them both and then lead them on a merry chase. I make it to the court yard, then I run down the hallway the team is holding up in. I run through everyone, and then past Thanatov who is in the very back. I leave out the back entrance.



Thanatov realizes what I've done. "Oh ****." was the only thing he said when I ran past him.



I've left my team behind to die. I know Thanatov won't fall unless everyone else does first. I can only hope the double FP bait was enough. The plan seems to be working. I hear the hail of gunfire and the raging mechanical sounds of the fleshpounds. The first teammate falls. Then the second. The gunfire continues and at this point the double FPs have probably fallen, but they've done their job. The front line was broken and two allies fell. There was ~100 specimens left when the third teammate fell.



Only Thanatov and one more. I hear his AA12 letting off round after round. The specimen counter is dropping quickly. I'm beginning to get nervous. During this time I'm simply running through the map staying fairly close to the hallway area but avoiding killing unless I absolutely have to. Did my plan fail? ~70 specimens left when the fourth teammate drops. Only Thanatov and myself remain.



His AA12 firing, the specimen counter keeps falling. 60. 50. I hear the sound of his Dual Man Cannons blasting off. He must have run dry on the AA12 or just didn't have time to reload. 40. 30. I hear the sound of a handful of grenades going off. Yes. He's going to blow himself up and take a few with him! It's over!



20 specimens left and Thanatov is still alive. You've got to be kidding me. Is he going to survive? I hear the sound of 9mm gunfire. He must have been dry on everything else. Just under 20 specimens when finally I hear the sound of gorefasts dismembering his corpse.



He had too much pride to use his last few grenades to blow himself up and take a few specimens to the afterlife with him like we normally do before we die. He knew everything that just happened was carefully planned by me and he did not want to give me the satisfaction of seeing him die so he tried to fight it out to the very end.



When he finally fell he let me have it. "You better not ****ing die. I can't believe you did that." All I could do was laugh. I laughed for a good 5 minutes.



You see we were going for the achievement for beating Bedlam on suicidal so it was our first time getting this close to winning. My plan wasn't just to get everyone killed to kill Thanatov, it was to get everyone killed and then clean up the remaining wave so that we could continue on to beat the map.



Thankfully Thanatov fought like a champion and I only had a small pittance to clear, although that pittance included the last remaining Fleshpound and a few scrakes amongst the gorefasts the cut down Thanatov. I cleared it out barely surviving.



For the remaining waves we played like a team and there were no more shenanigans. Thanatov didn't look for retribution that game, he knew he was bested and respected the lengths I went through to kill him. Rest assured he got me back plenty of times in future games, and I got him as well.



For the life of me I couldn't remember if we ended up clearing the map but I checked my achievements and I don't have the one for beating Bedlam on Suicidal. That very well could be because I sabotaged the team on wave 8 to kill Thanatov. Even if that's the case and it's not because we simply failed by our own merits as a team on the final wave...



I regret nothing.















I have plenty more stories to share, but I'll save them for another post. Any other veterans out there - feel free to share your stories as well! Hope you enjoyed that one friends. It's one of my fondest memories from this game.

Been using this for a bit, but couldn't stand how it was organized. Before it was just "Melee Weapons" and then "Other," that "other" being all the guns. So you had a nice short list of melee weapons followed by a jumbled mess of guns.





A couple weeks ago I took the time to go and sort them out by perk. Figured it might be useful for others than just myself, and that I should share.

KF2 Music

I don't think there was a discussion about this yet.



So, I have been curious about the music in KF2 because to me, the music in KF1 played a big part in the game, especially the 'Abandon All' when Patty comes along. First time hearing that sent shivers down my spine.



So, I would be interested to know who will be composing the music for KF2. Is zYnthetic still composing some of it? And lastly, will it still be that heavy, metal (& industrial) oriented style that I loved so much?



Because I frankly cannot see KF being played with any other kind of music n.n

Combat zone

This is probably a noob question but here goes, Several times I have been in game and the combat zone changed instantly. Being pretty new to the game I get a little confused and usually run in the wrong direction trying to get back into the correct position. I do not spawn camp or ever try to get into a position to fire on an enemy as soon as they spawn, but several times I have found myself in a spawn protected area trying to get back in the correct position..

KF Listen Server not letting friends connect :(

I've portforwarded all the needed ports, and messed around with some killingfloor.ini settings, like uplinktogamespy to false, but I just can't get my friends to join my server. I've tried having them direct connect, using shift-tab on steam and just going to the friends tab on server browser.



If I could get any help it would be highly appreciated. :)




RS Distorted aiming(iron sight/scope) while moving

I've searched for this issue but I could not find anything similar and I don't know if anybody have this problem either.



The problem happens when I press to aim(mouse right-button) while moving(while sprint or not) and stops, the aim become distorted. Don't happens always, only sometimes, so I can't reproduce anytime I want, but it happens often.

Then, when this happens, sometimes if I just move the aim around, the aim centers by itself, sometimes don't and I have to move aiming. If this still don't fix the aim, I stop aiming, move and I try aim again.



I don't think this happens on RO2 too, so I tagged this as RS only.




Campaign and Combat zone bugs

Since the mg42 patch ro2 campaign has had an interesting bug, when the roles are reversed e.g. Germans attacking bridges, Russians attacking grain elevator and so on.

The Russian Machine Gunners spawn with a mg42, and the Germans can spawn on these Mg's - right next to all the Russian players.



Another bug that has been around for a while is once a team runs out of tickets the combat zone boundary is removed. However if a point is captured by either team the boundary comes back and the defenders have to wait until time runs out or the attackers all die, they cannot chase them down. Seems to happen on all maps.




KF My KillingFloor.exe won't exit

Hi, i have a huge problem right now.

I got the game Killing Floor yesterday and played it for a while.

After i was done playing the game i closed the game via the in-game menu.

After i pressed the exit button and took a break from it i came back but i couldn't run it because the app was already running. It still says on my profile that I'm playing Killing Floor.

I've tried closing it with task manager in the information section but it says "acces denied", i tried force closing it with process hacker but it says that it can't. I've also tried turning my computer on and off, i can't log out from steam because it tells me to exit Killing Floor. I can run other steam games altough.

Please help me, i don't want my steam account ruined because of 1 single game.

Tripwire, I hope you make the minimum requirements HIGHER than what's really required

Why? Because look at Killing Floor 1.



A computer that could adequately run KF1 when it was first released in 2009 (on simple maps like KF-BioticsLab, KF-Farm, etc.) can barely run it now (on complex heavy maps like KF-Departed, KF-HillbillyHorror, etc.).



Not to mention that new voices couldn't be added to KF1 because of the memory constraints.



Tripwire, nip this in the bud this time around. If the game requires 2GB of RAM, say it requires 3GB, etc. etc.




Add a PVP mode beside the zombie one

A Pvp mode to play with weapons against other players would be like a modern day red orchestra 2 so what do you say about that.

in my PostBeginPlay method of my MyMutator class, i do this :

But what if i want to reach a MyMutator's property from my MyPlayerController class. I define this controller like this :

How to import Unreal Tournament 2004 player models to KF

Hello there! This is the main reason I registered in the forums:

Since UT2004 is the same game engine (I think! :rolleyes: ) what do I need to make It work? Which tools are necessary? Do I have to work with the animations?

KF KF w/o router connection problems.

Hello, i have a big problem with KF connection.

I can connect to servers in Server Browser, but no one can connect to me, if i create listen server. My friends can't connect to me via Steam "Join" menu in Steam overlay. They can't connect to me, even directly entering IP in console or Server Browser.

Now the main facts:

I am using Steam version.

I used router, but when i thought, that problem in router, i have connect my internet cable directly into computer.

I have DISABLED FIREWALL at all (but just in case i created rules for KF ports).

I have disabled Anti-virus program fully (Avast).

I have no file, named Steam_appID.ini, and never had it.

I tried to set ServerBehindNAT to TRUE and [UPNP] Enabled to FALSE, and tried vice versa.

My friends tried to connect me, via Steam overlay and Via directly typing my IP in server browser.

So. None of things i read before helped me. And i am in despair. Please, tell me, what am i doing wrong and how to make proper server, that other people can connect?

a few realistic ideas.

1) would it be possible to make a soldiers hands shake more while reloading and getting shot at?



2)more shaking while aiming ( I don't think anyone can hold a gun that still)



3) the camera should move while the gun shoots to simulate recoil on the soldier.



4) the zoom on shift should be slightly less.



5) having to adjust the scope to your eye ( scope would be further away than normal too) making scopes more realistic.




RO2 Gamma to win ?

Really dont like to adjust gamma/brightness to not being owned all the time in cost of losing overall immersion.

Any ideas how to prevent ? Just dont tell me to play on default on my own because scaling brightness is huge advantage for those who doing it. Same with foliage I assume...

Charging Zeds breaking through

I've noticed in the gameplay footage at around 1:45-1:49 the gorefast clips through the cyst, so my idea is that charging zeds(gorefast,scrake,fleshpound possibly more?) would push other zeds close by out of the way, or if a zeds notices it charging they would jump away from it. While jumping/stepping away/back, there could be differences in their jumps.



If its a Gorefast,they would be pushed back and look at the Gorefast confused or get pissed off and start charging. Maybe zeds would trip over the gorefasts sword or get hit by it depending on the animation/where the sword is.



For scrakes it would kinda be the same, except if the scrake hits the zed on to his left(not his chainsaw) it would kinda knock them back and left side might slice through the other zeds.



Fleshpound in KF1 just instantly killed zeds around it or damaged them. Would like to see him just smash through the horde like slinging them out of the way and probably killing them.

Regular skipping, graphics issue????

Since I updated to Mac OSX Yosemite, the game will skip. If I move my mouse around the screen, whether it is main menu, server browser, or in game, there is a skipping that occurs. While in-game, if my character is running straight, the game will skip every 2-3 seconds. The sound skips as well when this occurs.



My machine has 2GB of VRAM so I know that it is not an underpowered related issue. I tried turning the graphics down...



Is there a graphics setting that fixes this or is it a bug that manifested itself due to an OS update?



Anyone else experience this issue? The only remedy I have found is a software/system reboot. But it always comes back. Not sure what the trigger is when the issue returns.




KF KF client wont query some servers

Since the toymaster update I have noticed some servers were absent from the in game browser but are reporting to the steam master list.



Attached below is an example of one server that fails to show in killing floor but works fine with steams browser. I think this may be an issue with the client.







This server at question is SHIVA'S 8.6.2.107:7707 if anyone wants to verify for themselves.



Has anyone had similar issues or have any recommendations?

KF How to get Fleshpound voice?

Hi guys. I wonder how can I get myeslf sound like a Fleshpound. I was having fun with some programs and I changed my voice for example to GLaDOS from Portal series. But the Fleshpound voice is the best, especially NutPound one. I would love to get synthesizer or similar thing that would let me speak this voice on a regular basis. Can someone tell me how to pitch the voice?

If it aint broke

In the PC Gamer magazine where it compares KF1 and KF2 Fleshpound, it talks about the mace spinning arms with a text "Spinning blades for pounding flesh; if it aint broke..." Does that mean in the new gore system damaging individual body parts affect the zeds in some way? Are we going to see a Fleshpound missing one of his arms stomp on someones face, or chomp open the players stomach, revealing all the organs inside? Or is he still going to pound flesh, except it wont work quite as well. What will Gorefasts without swords attached on their arms going to do? Will they bleed out from individual body parts just as if they were missing a head, or will they crawl towards you like a Crawler and bite your face off like an armless Clot? Will there be a zed with a skinless, boneless chest or stomach, walking towards you before falling over and dropping all of his insides spread neatly infront of you, begging for you to crush them with all the blood splattering all over the place?



Either way, keep up with the good work! Looking forward to seeing the next video revealing their new movesets, or Scrake, Kevin and more.




RO2 Admin rights

Would it be possible to give Admins more power on each map.

Like for example

-The right to add or limit time on a map

-The right to add or limit respawn

-The right to add Tank or any other class



Most of Veteran players know how some maps could be tweaked for a total gameplay change...

[How Do I?] is there a way to bind prone toggle and moving into cover in the same button?

like how it currently works with pick weapon/use bandage/use cover.



i want to have a button just for toggle prone/use cover so that i can instantly enter cover when i get up from prone position.



also to cope with the fact that prone button to be CTRL and when i want to quickly dive to cover i want it to be CTRL - easier to reach from the WASD keys



any console commands or config files that i can tinker around to accomplish this?

KF Huge ups and downs in server activity?

The story so far: A couple of weeks ago I rented a Killing Floor server from GameServers.com. I configured the server to my liking and then waited for some people to join to play with (most of my friends don't play KF). However, hours and then days went by and almost noone connected to my server, I think one or two people dropped by a few times but they left again before others joined.

I was quite disappointed by this, as I had rented another KF server a year or two ago and I remember it was quite popular, with groups playing there often in the afternoon and evening. I thought maybe GameServers.com servers suck (last time I got the server from Multiplay.co.uk) or that maybe Killing Floor just has a lot less players now than it did back then. But then after a week or so I suddenly started to see a rise in activity on my server. People were joining more often, and a couple of days later it was beginning to get pretty active and full quite often.

So I got to enjoy my server for a few days, but then the KF Halloween event started. I wanted to play the new map so I switched my server to it. I figured I wouldn't have to wait long for players to join because everyone would want to try the new map and it was a free weekend, but nope, server stayed empty again. I quickly switched it back to the map it was on (WestLondon) hoping that that would somehow fix it but of course that didn't help.

So now my server is deserted again, and here I am waiting and hoping that in a few days people will actually start joining again.



So my question of course is, does anyone know what could explain this strange behavior? I have noticed that it takes a long time for my server to show up in the server browser (like a minute after I hit refresh), maybe the server browser displays servers that have been up longer first or something? Is there some way my server can get higher priority for the Master Server? Kind of a waste to have a perfectly fine server that almost noone ever joins. :/





TL;DR: It seems that whenever I reconfigure my server after that almost nobody joins it for like a week, what gives?




Help! My punkbuster isn't working!

MKB42 firing sound has been messed up since beta

Hello. This game has come a long way since beta and I will say it is very enjoyable now and I play it often.



However, there has been a sound bug in this game since beta that bothers me every time I play. Who ever recorded the MKB42 gun firing sound messed up I guess or something. Ive tried it on different speakers, headphones, amps, dacs, you name it (I am a bit of an audiophile), the messed up firing sound still persist.



It is like an ALMOST static sound that plays with the MKB42 when it fires, I feel like it is even more noticeable when the gun is being fired by another player from a distance. It is really noticeable when playing this game with nice reference headphones, and I would REALLY appreciate if you guys would look into fixing this some time in the future.

RO2 Low speed of vehicles

I dont know how to reproduce this issue but seems to be related to latest patch and new vehicles. Happened on StalingradOutskirts and Yakovlevo.

Vehicles run with a max speed 7km/h. On huge CA maps its a game breaking issue. It doesnt happen every time as the issue didnt occure on Yakovlevo today.




[SDK] Which Map includes which textures / Music / StaticMeshes

Hi guys,



my problem is I want to sort out my tons of maps. Only of course, is the problem it with the delete of Map alone is not enough. Many maps bring textures or other files. It´s possible to find it out in the log of the SDK what is loaded.



So far so clear.



However, I can not simply delete the Textures etc. because I do not know whether these files are still used by other maps. Now to my question. How can I find out quickly and effectively which map which includes to function?



I have been doing my done to write a program in C# that for me but I can only read the .rom "raw" and cannot be read as the SDK that does the .rom.



Any help I would be grateful! The sort of maps becomes very time consuming.



PS: Maybe the approach would be feasible to delete the map and then find out which textures etc no longer be used ?!

KF Critical Error every time I host a Listen Server

So every time I try to host a listen server on Killing Floor I get a critical error on the map loading screen. This doesn't happen whenever I go Solo or find a multiplayer server. Here's the report:

KF Server does not appear in the list, etc

Hello guys, so I rented a Cloud (VPS) to host my server, and it worked perfectly, but no one enters it, I can enter with the IP added to favorites and clicking, but through my list I have not found my own server, I I'm from Brazil, my Cloud is the United States, when I was staying on my computer, accessed the normal people, just slow to come in, but accessed, even now, no one goes, what could it be?

Hi all, I've been trying to figure out how active the game is still. When I looked at the steam sever list there was only one server and with no one playing...Before dropping £7 on the game I'd like to know if anyone still plays! Thanks




Can anyone actually find servers?

I've read alot of posts in the past few days since the halloween update was released about problems with the game. The only official help I've seen for people who are having issues loading/connecting to servers is to delete Steam_AppID.txt file. But for many people (myself included) that file doesn't exist. C'mon TWI, help us out here, people want to play during the event.




RS Japanese grenade attack.

I thought of an idea, (might be stupid). 1) when a Japanese player presses middle mouse button on a grenade he can charge into attackers and kill himself and the enemy with no sucide points, essentially becoming a sucide bomber, this could enable a few sneaky players to get within 15m then charge with grenades killing a few American MGs or riflemen,allowing their team mates to advance… don't know whether its a good idea but they did do this in battles.




RO2 Combined Arms Maps.

First of all thanks for the maps you gave us.

RO2 would be dead for me without custom maps and IOM.



I'm not a modder or anything close to it.

Just an average player.



We've got plenty of good tank maps: Yakovlevo, Ogledow, Kumski, Arad2...Stalingradoutskirts.

But these maps are much close to tank maps with few soldiers than really Combined arms.



I would love to see, those maps able to play with only 2-3 tanks per side and loads of infantery...this is possible in Ogledow.



6-8 tanks per side is way enough to experience great Combined arms...



Is it possible to make little variation on existing map...?:)

Where can I find file that contains my filter settings I need to send it to my friend so he won't get banned for too many connections.




Server not responding

Hello! I'm new here but not in KF.

My problem is: I had my listen server and it worked fine. But with this update of Halloween, it doenst work anymore. I used to play with my gf and friends, the way we wanted, like objective mode. We liked it because we dont find games like objective mode with a good ping for our region.



All my ports for the game ar open, the firewall for the game also. Serverbehindnat set to true. Tried even to delete killingfloor.ini and validate files in Steam and it doenst work anymore. Every solution in every forum, none works. Tried even to reset my router and configure it again.



If someone can please help me for real, I will appreciate. My name in steam is "marry me". Sorry for any error, English is not my native language. I can also copy and paste here my ini and log if its needed as response. Thanks in advance.

My "fix" for server list not showing servers

I've been having issues with the server list not showing all of the servers, and it takes several minutes to show the few servers that it does. I looked around for the Steam_AppID.txt file suggested by Yoshiro (I'm not entirely sure it's related to my issue, but whatever), but it's not in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\KillingFloor folder.



Instead, what I found "fixes" this issue is to alt+tab. When the KF window is maximized again, all of the servers show up in a timely fashion (you may need to alt+tab multiple times). Glhf!




Objectives aside from "Survive"...?

Hi everybody!



First off let me say that I enjoyed KF1 alot. Even without additional Objectives and Missions, it was quite alot of fun.



But are there any plans for KF2 to have actual missions to play to keep the players busy? I mean there could be tons of amazing objectives for the players to add a little more depths to the already very enjoyable gameplay.

Give it an edge to be "not just another zombie shooter".

Don't get me wrong, the Arena Wave system is amazingly fun, but at some point, mixing it up would be nice.

KF Are map achievements OK when perks are growing ?

In our KF server, we can't unlock normal map achievement of Clandestine.

Perks are working in this server, and I was told that if perks grow, then the server has no reason to block achievement.



Am I right ?



Is there any reason of blocking the CLandestine map achievement ? Unfortunately, I can't easily test any other achievement, I have most of them.




KF Is KF Steam Cloud compatible ?

In the past, I believed that KF used the Steam Cloud, but now there is no "team Cloud" option in the game properties, and no synchronization.



Am I wrong ? Or is the Steam Cloud no more available on KF ?




RO2 make binoculars as quickuse

Make binoculars as quick use.



How: Pressing the binocular button will go into direct binoculars mode and releasing(or pressing it again) it will put you back to your weapon you held before.



Why: Bin´s don get used much but are useful for example as an mg player

(e.g. at bridges of druzhina) but there are not practical in handling, it takes to much work on the keyboard ( press 5 , click , use the binoculars , press

1 , click , redeploy mg )



Con: no more binoculars as handweapon :D

Toy mod for redirect? help on files?

I was wanting to put the files nessesary to run the new toy mod/map and was wanting to know first, can i compress the files so player who have joined who dont have it install will download the compress files and map so they can play, and what files are needed for the redirect.




Game crashing unbearably commonly

I've only started having this problem since the Tank update - I have not changed my hardware in any way, I have the latest drivers, and changing my graphics settings makes no difference - even on lowest it is crashing, which isn't really cool when I have a GTX 780.

I suppose I should also add that female characters should available as well as male characters. That's pretty much a standard for games now days.




Recent connection problems

Two people from Russia, two from Germany, one from Moldova and no one can connect to each other's server: it's either "server not responding" or connection hanging forever. It's been like this for over a month now. Anyone knows the reason?




RO2 Question for a terrain wizard

Howdy.

I'll try to keep it short-I want to know if I can export a heightmap of a terrain with DrawScale3D of 64x64x1024 (1024 patches) and then import that heightmap to a new terrain with a DrawScale3D of 128x128x1024 (512 patches) and have all the hills, etc... show up in the same places because I REALLY don't want to have to make a new terrain from scratch. Having to do that would likely kill this map and I've been working on it all freaking year.

Question about short gameplay

I don't know if someone already asked it, if it is so, well, oopsie.



Now, and I'm sure I'm not he only one who noticed, in the waiting screen before you give the ready for match in the actual KF, in the small square with the advertisements, it started popping out a small video footage of KF2 gameplay with a few scenes I didn't see in the dev diary (for example, there's a FP charging towards the player and through a couple of zeds). Is it possible to find it on youtube? It's interesting, and I'd like to watch it sometimes without having to start KF.




KF [F10 to cancel] screen flood, then, dropped to main menu.

i know there were a few different issues just the last few days. twi says they were overwhelmed with new players. o k a y, but more than other free weekends or events? really? because in 2+ years of heavy kf play i never experienced this. where for the first day or so almost all servers were not reachable and all that jazz. even now i am using the damn steam browser but that's not even the main issue for me. what is, is that when i do join a server -any server- if i want to change map, it starts the process, loads the black screen that has the [F10 to cancel] message, and just "floods" it really fast on my screen and then drops me to the game menu, every single time. outrageous! i have to exit the game and use the steam browser to rejoin. that's what i do to play a new map. can you believe this? to play map x i first join a server, if alone i select map y and exit the game when dropped to menu by this garbage bug or whatever is causing it. i then quit the game and quickly rejoin same server. by the time i load it i am in the new map that i wanted. what a way to play a game that has never in 3 years done this. never!



i actually think two things happened here. yes, huge demand over last few days, but i doubt much more than before. so the other thing must be twi removing some servers in anticipation of kf2 and/or starting to abandon kf. makes no sense otherwise.




KF Top ten killing floor players

is there a list of, say, the top ten kf players anywhere? obviously such a list would be contested by many, but i think anyone who has played kf for the last two years or so knows those people. ten of the best in no particular order. why? i want to see if most have youtube videos and maybe learn something whilst watching some. i make this thread now because i just had a game where deepblue888 came in and that -his name- reminded me he has a YT channel. after the game i went there to see what he may have uploaded, but sadly nothing in over a year. i already watched all his videos back then. i need more pro players who have YT videos.



if you have direct YT links would be even better, though if there they use a different or "1337" name, note here who the steam player name is. i'll start the list with some that i remember and acknowledge are very good players.

KF server bat File

I was working on setting up a KF Dedicated server on my desktop and found a few things frustrating. So I set up this bat file (Windows) to make things easier for me.



It includes

Variables at the top for setting the SteamCMD folder and the KFServer folder

Variables at the top for default Server Account username & password

Variables at the top for default Server Admin username & password



You can install Killing Floor & Toy Mod.



You can run either one. With the default username & password set at the top or a custom one for that run only.



You can also open the KillingFloor.ini and ToyGame.ini from the bat file.



If anyone has suggestions or requests for things I could add, let me know, I will see what I can do to update it!



***NOTE***

It DOES require that SteamCMD already be installed on your computer somewhere.

You WILL have to edit it before first use as you will need to set your SteamCMD directory & Server Account username & password

KF Texture Bugs

When playing on any KF map, I get a huge texture stretch across my screen. I've deleted my entire KillingFloor\System folder and verified the files through Steam and it didn't fix the problem. I haven't changed my video card drivers recently so I don't see that being an issue. I'm going to log my GPU temps when playing to rule out overheating.
